    Hi guys,

Apologies for posting this topic but I was wondering if there was a spot for the Petit Le Mans race if you plan on racing as I have fancied racing with you for quite some time and my regular team won't be racing as it stands.

I wouldn't be around for the early stages of the race though as I will be at work during the day and don't finish until 9 pm or 9:30 UK time and will understand if there isn't a spot for me.

@Ryan Walker you never need apologize my good friend, you are always welcome around here :)

We've not discussed this much yet as the Glen is still in front of us but anytime is a good time to bring up the topic so it's all good.

I'm sure there will be enough interest here to team you up with someone. I personally haven't put a lot of thought into this but it's probable I race it as well given I'll be skipping the Glen this upcoming weekend.

What cars are you all thinking of running?

I'd be interested in this one, particularly since I missed SPA and the Glen.

I'm interested in driving this as well. Most likely in GTE again. Maybe the Ford this time?

GTE car is my preferred choice - not bothered about what car we use.

Hey guys, the schedule I have for 2017 endurance says that Petit Le Mans will be only GT3s and DPs, do you see something that said it would include the GTEs?

Oh, thanks, hadn't seen that. I would think the Ferrari would be fun on RA, will have to try it out :)

Hey there big guy. Have we met?

I'd be willing to do the Ford this time since we did the Glen in the Ferrari.

Any thoughts on teams for Petit Le Mans? I tried the GTEs and they are fun and fast, but the limited visibility in the Ford I would think would make it riskier on Road Atlanta where there will be so much traffic.

There has been at least one big crash because somebody couldn't really see out of their Mazda prototype and ran straight into a guy coming out of the pits.

I don't find the Ford's visibility that bad? The A-Pillars are large, but the way they slope you have pretty decent lateral vision out of the front windshield, plus the much bigger/nicer TV screen than the Ferrari. I'll agree it's not the wide open big sky vistas you get from the 488 but I think it's passable and not dangerous.

I would be willing to race in this event as well. I ran the 488 last night in a hosted session for about 90 minutes. It was good, but there wasn't a lot of traffic to drive with. There were only 3 to 4 cars online the entire time.

I wonder if they will include the 488 GT3 car once its made available today.

Yeah, I have wondered that to. Can't wait to try it tonight!

I was in a PS last night in the 488 too, but there was quite a bit of traffic. In fact, some of the best racing for me, really fun :) I was able to get down in the low 1:19s on the SPA setup and there is still more time to be found with more practice and the right set up. I have to say, Road Atlanta is one of my favorite tracks, I guess because it is one of the few I have driven in real life so it has such great memories :D Every time a go through turns 11, 12 and 1, I am reminded of how awesome (and scary) it was to drive that track. I like how you can be flat out in the 488 GTE through turn 12.

@John Navara yes, iRacing has stated that adding a 6th car in official sessions means that the IMSA series will be running the Ferrari 488 GT3 along side the Mercedes AMG GT3 and Audi R8 GT3 (IMSA "GTD" category), the Ford GT GTE and Ferrari 488 GTE (IMSA "GTLM" category), and the Corvette C7 Daytona Prototype (IMSA Prototype category).

Because the Petit Le Mans is an IMSA sanctioned event, it is safe to say that the cars in the iRacing Official IMSA series are the cars that will be available for the iRacing Official IMSA Petit Le Mans.

You are probably correct @Skid_Marc_ I might run a few laps with the 488 GT3 tonight and see how it goes. @Deb I was using the VIR setup from Craig Williams at Road Atlanta last night.
