It is once again time for the best endurance race of the year!

No rain because the cars are not ready, but at least the new damage model is enabled.

Who is interested and what are your preferences?

I think a Porsche 992, GT3 or GT4 could be fun. Anything slower might be at the mercy of the faster traffic frequently, although they are less popular resulting in a higher split.
Time slot #1, #2 or #3 would work for me, with the usual risk of timeslot 1-2 having more aggressive driving because teams can jump into the next slot if they crash. I am on a work trip between 12-16 May so I can't practice or mess with the setup during that period.

Ya, unfortunately I can't be here either. I'm still unable to use pedals still without extreme discomfort in both my left knee and lower back.

Sorry.

Well, if the TCR drivers and the GT3 drivers are out, then I'm good with either the PCup or GT4, even if it is the awful Cayman, or whatever tf.

That said, if any other GT4 is on the table, I would prefer it.. lol

Nah, absolutely not, but I am indifferent between them. The PCup would only be head and shoulders ahead if it were the 991! 992 and GT4 are equal in my book. Different challenges with each. ;)

Hey Marc, I believe a convo between us where you stated the Merc GT4 was actually a good car to drive.

As an update, I may turn some laps with you guys just to get back into the swing of things and see how long I can drive. This track is pure torture though so I know I won't be able to do full stints here which is the reason I won't be present.

Also, I'm guessing there will be no rain this year?

Oh yeah, this track takes some work. It makes my knees hurt and I am a fraction of your age :D

No rain this year indeed, the PCup, GT4 and TCR class do not support it yet.

Yeah, Merc is a good car. Aston is the car that most people seem to love, but I haven't bought and tried it. I might before the 24, just because... what's another car, ehh?

Porsche and BMW GT4's were under-whelming on debut and confusingly unstable for what we were expecting. The Mercedes feels more familiar, a lot more like what we expected; "a GT3 car but slower". A lot slower. A depressing amount slower. The McLaren feels like a signature iRacing McLaren product. All the instability of the first two, but it makes more sense because of the badge on the hood. I was left saying "I didn't know I could McLaren it at this slow of a speed...." a number of times around Sebring, and not just Sunset bend and Turn 1.

The 992 GT3 Cup car just has too much overall grip. It's easy to sometimes forget you're not driving a GT3 car, but that's when it will bite you. Or when the tyres burn out, which they actually do, unlike most every other car in the sim.

The 991 was actually unique. You have to work non-stop in that car, but in a fun and rewarding way, like the V8 Supercar.
