Hey Mates,
I talked briefly about WRC last year, it came out as expected and also had it's fair share of teething problems!
Most of these have been ironed out and there is a good amount of regular QOL updates and game updates.
EA seem to have taken the route of Update packs rather than releasing a new game for each new official WRC season, so with 2024 came 2 new tracks and a handful of the current classes of WRC cars.
A DLC pack covered this and a few extra release things that will come between now and the end of the season.
This pack at release 2 weeks ago cost around 30 Euros/Dollars + 40 is Dollars for the base game which is required.
though if you buy the '24 version of the game it costs around 50 and comes with all previous content plus the new stuff (and possibly the future content for this DLC) Disclaimer: the pricing structure is confusing af so there are various packs that all seem to do the same thing!
ANYWAY to the important point , if you buy the current full version of EA WRC 24 from steam , until the 31st of October, you get the whole lot for £12 lol ( 15 euros/dollars? ish ?) So even if you own the 2023 version you would still save money buy buying the whole thing again rather than the DLC separately.
I bought the DLC when it released 2 weeks ago for the full price as it was well worth it, this current pricing is an absolute bargain. Check the "what you get " table further down the steam page (you have to scroll down) to make sure you are happy with what you are getting. here is is EA WRC 24
Side note, there is VR support which has great performance and visuals if you have an index or low powered headset, if you got anything fancier and newer then you will have to tit about a bit to make it work and also have a fairly meaty PC (you can ask me directly if you want to avoid a headache)
Triple support was promised but it is more of the stretched version than the way iRacing has triple support handled, it may come fully supported , it may not, EA are in control of that. However, I am playing it currently on triples as VR is just too difficult to stream this title with.
I am perfectly happy with the untweaked triples implementation as you do not have to worry so much about the image to your left and right as you do with when you have other people racing you side by side.
You do need surround for Nvidia GPUs. No clue how it works for AMD GPUs though
Anyway, 3 days, GO GO! EA WRC 24
