So I picked up each of these on a Steam sale yesterday. Shadow Warrior was about $10. Rise of the Triad (ROTT) was $5.
At those prices, both are worth it. these are modern(ish) remakes of the 90s sprite-based games from 3DRealms and Apogee Software, and they bear all the hallmarks of 90s FPS games. ROTT in particular is badly voiced, badly animated, and gloriously dumb. If you want a game where you can just wander into a place a shoot the crap out of a whole mess of Nazi-lookin' dudes with some ridiculous gibs, this is a solid game for you.
Shadow Warrior, while offensive towards those of Asian heritage, is so tongue-in-cheek that it can't be taken seriously. The action is actually a good bit better (so far) than ROTT. It's a blast to slice and dice dudes with a katana, and Lo Wang (I know....I know....) does say some funny crap sometimes.
Both well worth it. Apparently they have multiplayer modes, too, but I haven't looked into it at all yet.
