Arma 3 awesomeness

If they do release this as a Tiered Alpha to Beta as they are stating, we gotta get in on it with as many of us as possible. We certainly have enough ArmA players here to give it a good once over and get used to it prior to full launch.

I'm definitely up for Alpha/Beta, anyone else?

Yup, sure could be lots of fun. The Alpha would probably be less buggy than Arma2 at release anyway so it should be all good :D

Wow, this truly looks breathtaking.. I remember the same thing when ArmA 2 came out. And ArmA 2 still just looks awesome.. imagine ArmA 3... I am curious about the system requirements though.. I wonder what kind of systems they target as a minimum requirement.

I'm actually picking up a new computer specifically because of ArmAIII. I'm just hoping their into second gen core 2011 by then and PCIE3 is mainstream with GPU's.

I think they'll aim for mid-range computers for their minimum-to-OK requirements. That's where they've been with the other releases and I think they've said something about their new engine doesn't need more power than what is needed in Arma2. But of course, then comes the goodies that demands more, and we all want goodies :D
Anyway, my impression so far is that the specs for Arma3 shouldn't be too terrifying.

In my case, my antiquated Conroe E-6600 is just struggling to keep up. I'm also still on PCIE1, DDR2 @ 667 along with FSB  (all overclocked of course).

In my case, it's just time to do something extreme because there's no upgrade in the world that's going to help me out.

You're absolutely right about that, Duke. I built my computer last year with a i5-2500k and a GTX570 and already changed the GPU to an AMD 7970. Nice being able to max out video settings and draw distance in the options. Let's see how my system copes with Arma3 ...

I'm waiting for Arma3 before I get any new hardware. My system is probably in the upper mid-range now so it's still good enough.
I'm very interested in your experiences in Arma3 though, to get a few pointers on what hardware works and what should be avoided ;)
