This evening we take the role as the 'bad guys'. We're insurgents that will ambush an army convoy and steal their weapons truck.

It's possible to change the gear in the lobby, so we'll figure out who's doing what at that time.

I'll be on TS from 2000 CET as usual. Who's joining me?

Hope you're well again today Wotan. I'll drink to your good health (just water, so it has basically no effect. You need alcohol for that :icon_cheesygrin:)

We had a short session yesterday as we were just three and were already too few for most missions. On top of that Rolfy's computers backed out again and that was a good time for rounding it off.
We'll have our revenge on the evil AI next time ;)

So, since the evening was still young Wapwap and me tried to figure out what else we could play online. Well, as it turned out we had nothing in common installed
Wapwap gave me a code for the "demoversion" of Diablo III (thanks mate!) and I downloaded that. Unfortunately we couldn't play online with the two different versions, so that was a no go too. And during my demoing of Diablo III I was thrown out with just an error message not long after we logged off TS. They seem to still have some issues with their servers...
Anyway, It's nice to have a closer look at D3 so I have something to compare against Torchlight 2 (which I'll probably buy) and Path of Exile (which will be free to play when released).

I also tried to "sell in" Frozen Synapse to Wapwap
Since D3 had crashed on me I logged in on FS again to finish some turns against some opponents before going to bed, I found out that I could also record "offline" as well as directly to Youtube. I gave it a try after a mission I played against the AI - the result is in the video "FS_light_quick_dispatch.ogv" (I 0wnz!!)
I also recorded the one mission I talked about where I was down to my last man - "FS_dark_ onemanwin.ogv". (In the dark gamemode I can't see my enemies unless one of my guys have spotted them first. All planning in the end was done in total blindness).
Both videos can be found on the fragtard FTP under .\downloads\332Viking. It's in OGV-format which can be played directly by the latest version of VLC.
Nice feature to have in a game as all the sounds are in the videos as well (except the music though) and the result is quite okay (they have changed the resolution and quality to fit into Youtube standards).
Enjoy! :D

How do you like Diablo so far, now that you've played it a little more Leimboy?

Nice to see those movies of Frozen Synapse, the actual action time is pretty short indeed, very interesting to see though! Gonna have to try it out someday.

I'm actually considering buying another copy of Frozen Synapse so that I have one (or two) accounts to give away to friends or other interested. The new DLC released for it yesterday also allows coop play against the AI (both through the campaign and in single missions) that sounds pretty interesting. The demo should give you a real feel for what the gameplay will be though. The other modes are just that...modes (and of course you'll play against humans that will make it som much more fun).

I've tried to play as much Diablo3 as I possibly could the last days and finished the demo/preview with the magician-type.
I'm sorry to say that the game doesn't grip me like Path of Exile or Torchlight does, I'm just finding myself slightly bored with it after a short while. The final drop was when I fought the first boss (the skeleton king or something) and the way to fight was just to grind grind and grind some more at him until his hitpoints went to zero, which took a looong time, long after the fight was interesting (which it was for the first few seconds until I figured him out).
Another thing that draws me away from it is that I really do not want to go through that whole story and the pre-defined path of the start again. To me it seems the starting missions and the setting around it is a bit too narrow for me to enjoy going through again and again (and that is what I want from a dungeon-slasher like this). I must admit that I'm a bit disappointed. I hoped Diablo3 should be more from the start (I know the demo isn't the entire game, but it IS what Blizzard thinks is enough to tempt us).

After that I decided to jump in and buy Torchlight2 (the pre-order thing, which included the original Torchlight). And now I'm having a really good time in Torchlight. It suits me better since the maps are randomized from the start and you have a slight variation in enemies that actually act different and gives you different challenges.
Now I'm really looking forward to the release of Torchlight2 and I hope someone else here also plans to buy it :)
