Curious if anyone would be interested in trying out Arma 3 Exile.

I've got an Exile server up for anyone wanting to give it a go.

For a more indepth explanation of what Exile is Google, Exile Beginner Guide, which should bring up the Exile Beginner Guide located at steam. It explains how to work with traders, save and store your loot, how to craft and how to build. Yes basebuilding. Repairing, fueling vehicles etc etc. There is no password. Just filter for, Docs Exile.

Added AX3AI script for some random AI. After some exploring I finally happened upon 3 of them in a small town. They are armed and will try to kill you. I've not seen any soldiers yet.

I've tried this before with D.O.A., and i gotta admit this was the least fun i had with any Arma mod.

Dont get me wrong Doc, but do you really think it's a good idea to host a server unpassworded and unmanaged during weekdays?

Where are you hosting it anyway? From home or a dedicated machine?
I could help you set it up so it doesn't need a person/admin to restart regularly and have idiots banned automaticaly.

I will however give it another try, i've seen some videos of later builds that took care of most of my previous not so funny experiences.

@ Shilka - come on out dude. The more the merrier.

@ Quick - Its hosted. I've never played Exile before so I've no idea whats changed. It certainly has been fun so far, but I can see where others might get bored with it as there is lots of running around, looting and sometimes a little too quiet. But I can see where for others that might create tension not knowing if AI or another player has their sites on you, and or following you.

There is a day/night cycle (not something I specified on the server). Starting out you probably don't want to get caught out in the middle of somewhere without NVG's and low on food at night.

There is base building as I mentioned in my previous post and I"m not sure if this is a new feature with Exile, but it seems we tend to lean more towards base building type games, e.g. Minecraft, Rust etc.

I've also reached out to the guys I used to fly with and they've been getting on the server as well from time to time. As I said, the more the merrier. While the server is not pass protected now, I've not had issues. If it becomes an issue I can simply change it. For now, the server is open for anyone to join.

Ryans Zombies and Demons now running on server.

Dl the latest @RyanZombies from Armaholic. Copy the, 'RyanD.Bikey', from inside the @RyanZombies folder and place that file into your Steamapps > Common > Arma 3 > keys directory.

Place the @RyanZombies folder into your Steamapps > common > Arma 3 directory.

Make sure you enable the mod via the launcher under, 'mods'. You should be good to go.

Don't bother with pasting the keys into your client.
The keys are only for the server.

Upon connecting to the server it checks the client files with the key that is present on the server.
If the files are not signed by that key you will be booted with the annotation that you should find the proper mod-files signed by exactly that key.

Same goes for clientside mods, If you want to allow the JSRS soundpack you don't have to add the entire mod to the server (It doesn't have sound anyway) but just paste the key in the keys folder.

JSRS DragonFyre, Blastcore and CBA were always white-listed on any of our ArmA servers.
That way it's up to the client which mods they want to use.

I was unable to connect until I put the key into my keys folder. Regardless of the reason behind what does what, if you can't connect try pasting the key into your client side keys folder.

Curious why there is a key folder on the clientside if in fact you don't use them?

You can "Host" local, that's why the Key folder is there. I have no keys whatsoever in my Keys folder currently and i have no problems connecting to anything
