Considering dropping V8 Supercars next Season

I'm thinking about dropping V8 Supercars in the near future not because I want to but because I feel I have to.

For me to be effective in this car I really need to turn a lot of laps to feel confident around the track. Those of you who know me best know I turn hundreds of laps before ever gridding and in many cases choose not to grid (for any race Series) as the confidence level isn't there.

The V8 is a very challenging car to drive and demands both a lot of time and energy, both of which are at a premium for me right now.

Considering the fact we now have our own League, my desire to spend time in other games, YouTube video creation, and now development of Good-Samaritan.net I just don't have time anymore.

The other thing I've noticed is that my Twitch Streams seem busier with both GT1 and more so with GT3 being streamed. Most of you have come here via Twitch GT3 Streams which is also hard to ignore.

Understandable. I am in the same boat. I love the racing of the V8 but I've always only wanted to concentrate on only one series.

The V8SC was a nice break from GT3 and all, but GT3 is my love and I think it is time to return.

I guess I can speak my mind now too: I'm definitely out of GRASim league. Part of the reason is very rude and unprofessional behaviour from certain members and part that I have 0 motivation left to race in there.

The little time I have with games before school, I'll use usefully and race in the other league I'm part of and some GT3 and other endurance races.

I joined while watching your V8 stream, however exactly what you said is why I stopped driving the V8's long ago. That and when the COTF came out and the old Falcon was dropped the new car just became too damn difficult to drive.

Maybe time to bust into some open wheelers, who's up for some indycar?

I can definitely agree with you on a few points. Takes a lot of time and laps in just in order to be somewhat comfortable you're not going to kill everything in a 2 mile radius of the car. However it is a lot of fun and deffiantly has made myself a better road driver because of the difficulty. I also am a little bit more interested in the gt3 league coming soon so i will probably make the full switch after this grasim season.

Well that's really it in a nutshell, it's all about our League. Any time I put into someone else's League is lost potential in our own which makes no sense.

I do agree the V8's help with becoming better at throttle control but personally think that the C-Spec and GT1 cars carry the same benefit.

I know from a car control and line repeatability standpoint, no car in iRacing has benefited me nearly as much as the C-Spec Open Setup.

For me I feel as if in the C-Spec I have to wrestle it to maintain control but in the V8 I'm not wrestling near as much as hanging on and hoping for the best lol.

Yeah I dropped the V8 last season, just didn't have the time needed to dedicate to it, and GRASim being on Tuesdays really hurt the amount of time I was able to practice for it.
