Final race of the F1 season and I really hope the STOOOPID double points rule brought in by the clearly demented Bernie "I'm too old for this shit" Ecclestone doesn't decide this championship.

All you gotta do is get 2nd Hamilton if Nico wins (would have been 6th without the daft double points)... nice and easy there, remember what happened to Vettel!

Only thing I could see putting a spanner in the works today is Mechanical failure, Nico punting him off like a spoilt brat again or the Williams cars, as they are super quick in a straight line. If they can get ahead at the start it would be a problem to solve.

Going to be tense... :icon_eek:

Did not know about that rule change. Seems really dumb. Why motorsports have to try and shove something akin to a playoff into their schedules now I have no idea. Its terribile for NASCAR.... it would be terrible for F1.

But gemme Blancpain any day.

It was the fantastic Yas Marina circuit. Amazing venue.

Re: double points Bernie wanted it to be for the last three races, ensuring no driver could have won the title with 3 races to go, but the teams kicked up such a stink he just went with a big middle finger and said "fine, it'll be the last race then, on your head be it." The guy really needs to go, he's clearly losing his mind but is so powerful the last person to challenge him has never been seen again :icon_eek:

I'm so glad the stupid double points didn't even come into play and hope they ditch the idea.

F1 is fascinating from a technology and speed point of view. Sure, it's not as close racing as tin tops and slower cars but it is the pinnacle of speed around a lap, even with these new turbo hairdryer engines. Man I miss the scream of the V8's. I'm just glad I got to hear them with my own ears before they were phased out, both trackside and even in a stadium at the Race of Champions at Wembley (amazing experience).

Anyway... he did it, so proud, and it's a fantastic story behind Lewis Hamilton. I'm made up for the lad.
