Grand Touring Cup (Race video)

Anyone else taking part in this series?

I saw Shilka have a go at it so decided to give it a try as we already had a fairly good understanding of the MX-5 and Laguna Seca.

You should report that guy because he clearly knocked you off the track. There is no way he was going for a pass on the guy in front and pretty much no way he could not have known you were there.

Nice race though, you did manage to make a very good comeback after that bit of a rocky start.

I gave it a go tonight and had a horrible race. I got passed fairly enough on the inside in 3 but since I was on the outside, 3 cars took advantage of it. This actually happened a few times, one knocking me right out into the dirt in turn 4 and I lost a ton of time.

Then, a bloody TDI had an offtrack and entered the track just in front of me allowing everyone behind me to catch up. Add a few vehicle contacts and I was disqualified at around lap 12.

Easily my shittiest race to date.

I did report him yeah, fairly easy process too. Bad luck about your race, seems we all have them! :icon_neutral:

Strokes and I took part in the Global Challenge last night. I jumped the start (and got a stop and go) and lost it twice on the opening lap. Strokes went on to nab second! I had a clean race the entire race, it was those first lap/start of race nerves that got me again. I need to work on that :icon_redface:

I did another GT cup, and was in a race with 29 of us! That was some race, an idiot spun it on the warm up lap and didn't recover, so I got a black flag (4 sec hold in pit box) for passing under a yellow!

Serves me right for not qualifying, I will definitely qualify for the next one, as being in a race with 28 other drivers in different makes and models was a lot of fun

And wow you did a few near hit overtakings there in the lat laps, I thought for sure you were gonna rearend that guy in the solstice like 2 laps before the end, you missed him by an inch or so!
Good result all events considered!

My first race, started 17th, finished 11th. A slow car before me and a rough ride into the gravel cost me 2 ranks - and that in the last lap ...

I saw P at pole position at the start of the race and then fell back to 2nd last. Did someone throw you offtrack and into the pit again?

Oh I didn't realize you were in that race! Man my start/first lap jitters got the better of me AGAIN! I really need to work on that because I fought back Rocky Balboa style to finish second. If I could just get over the starting nerves I'll be climbing up my division no problem I think... I'll put a video up later on as it was the biggest comeback of my iRacing career so far

Well that, and lots of practice I had a great couple of races yesterday.

Hehehe, got the same problem, but luckily I ahven't spun out yet in a race..
Good comeback though!

Thanks Shilka I got a 1:42.166 in practice today so if I can just hold it together on the first lap I might be able to get some decent points on the board!
