So who has it, or is getting it? I just picked it up today after much flip flopping. Do we need to be friends to rockstar social to join each other? Someone help a newbie out.

And I agree, from what little I've had time to play (sooo much going on right now it's ridiculous) it is very, very good. GTA in 4K is quite a thing for someone who's played every one from the first game onwards. Amazing how far we've come.
