As a few of you may know, I've been struggling with a background noise in my headset which unfortunately seems to broadcast to everyone when I'm on Teamspeak. Wappy and D.O.A. were the first to point this out to me and I have confirmed their correct via Teamspeak Options as well as Mic. Config. in Windows 7 and recording locally.
The odd thing is that I've been using this headset on my old Computer and there were no issues whatsoever which we re-confirmed about a week or so ago when on TS.
I've tried reversing the inputs both on the front panel and rear via the onboard sound and still no love. Every possible Mic. setting has been adjusted with and without boost, noise reduction, echo cancellation, etc., and whatever else I could find. I even tried updating the Mobo Drivers and then reversing them to no avail.
Last night for whatever reason, I decided to go into my Desktop Speakers Configuration and sure enough there was a Mic. setting there as well which was turned down to 0 (by default I guess). I cranked this up to around 70 and the noise seemed to be gone; good thing too because I nearly blew up my Desktop 5.1 lol.
I've since adjusted all my settings down a bit so now I have two Mic. Settings both at a Recording Volume of 70% and Mic. Boost set to 20%.
The true test will come this weekend when we're all on TS together as to whether or not you guys can pick up any static from my transmission (other than my verbal static which you're all accustomed to).
What I don't understand for the life of me is why would this Mic. Setting in Speaker Config. make any difference? I thought that this was for the Rear Speaker Hookups only and should not have effected my front panel HD Headphone/Mic. jacks.
Anyway I did some recording last night and couldn't pick up any static so it will be interesting to hear what you guys have to say this weekend.
