I really h8 snipetards in this game. I don't feel they really accomplish anything, right up until the moment I'm about to capture the flag that is, that's usually when I get taken out.

I tried sniping a few times and I'm so bl00dy useless at it it hurts. Not to mention it's boring as h3ll just sitting there. I don't know how TIO did it for years?

In BF1942 I used to live knocking snipers off buildings and hill tops with the wings of planes. No chance doing that in BF3 though.

I think in BF3 I've seen probably 2 people play the scount/sniper class with any use. I.e. rushing to a hidden location and putting down a spawn beacon so a flag could be taken or putting a SOFLAM somewhere useful (e.g. not on the hilltop either side of operation firestorm).

Everyone else just sits around trying to be l33t and of no use to the team or put SOFLAMs so far back they're no use to anyone.

Spawn beacons seem like a useful idea, how well does it play out in the game?

Very well when. Can be a right pain in the ass to find them. Occasionally you'll find one being used with a glitch to allow spawns in areas where they should be deployed but on the whole, its fairly robust.
