Inter-B2O PvP Scenarios

With the great-Quicksilver hunt that ended well for the allies, we all seemed to have a blast weeding out that sneaky bastard.

I think some of us are interested in PvP if done right, and among a community of friends I think it could go a lot better than an open server for obvious reasons.

Personally, I envision a custom scenario that limits two teams of up to 8 players each (possibly could use AI to fill in, why not?) to the confines of one of the larger cities. They're both tasked with clearing the city.

I think it would also be interesting to have enemies (for both sides) randomly scattered throughout the city as well to keep everyone on their toes.

Thoughts/Opinions?

I could probably make such a scenario, but if there are better scenario-makers that want to give it a go, feel free. It will probably take me days to do it. So let me know if this is something everyone would want to do.

I would encourage you to check out armaholic.com and see if they have a mission that could work for what you want. The chances are good that in looking you may find plenty of suitable scenarios for these play sessions.

I've been looking on the steam workshop - there are a few that are pretty similar. I'll keep looking.

With 3 of us being able to make missions/scripts, i don't see any problems creating any missions for us to use.

I'd also like to do something with Bracers Minihattan (it still has the fragtard logo's on the ingame billboards :)

When i get the chance, i'll link you to it.

I am definitly up for it, it's a lot less work i'd have to do compared to the weeks of scripting for our old Stratis Arma 3 server.
Exporting the content into arma 3 from arma 2 was a bitch.

Considering this would be made from scratch on Arma 3, i'd be surprised if we'd have to script anything to be honest.
Most functions in arma 3 can be called from within the 3den editor now.

That would be fun. Very dizzying.

I'm going to look into making the scenario I described and see what I might be able to make of it.

I guess all you need to do is add a respawn_west and respawn_east with 8 playable characters and a box for loadout selection.

A simple mission like that shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes

Well like I said, I want to have random AI scattered across the city fighting for both factions. That will make it more interesting and give the sense of a bigger battle. Rather than a small team vs team hunt.

Also some sort of border to enforce people to stay within city limits.

Might be cool to add really rare events that occur like random 3rd party armor or heli / plane intervention. Maybe a heli might circle the area for a period and kill indiscriminately, or a jet might buzz the area for a couple passes.

I have a working artillery script that drops artillery when the enemy AI spots you. The artillery is on a delay and is only meant as a tactic to discourage camping while slowly leveling the city.

The idea was to pit Blufor vs Opfor and have the players play alongside the AI meaning you could be shot by AI or another player.

The hill outside of Town would be laden with a high density mine field with the lowest edge of the City allowing a view of an armor battle (for immersion only/unplayable).

I started on this many months ago and have only put a few hours into it so little is done at this time.

The intent was to have the mission scale from 1 to 32 players (or more) so even 1 player can play and still enjoy a tough battle.

...however this is meant to be a Control Point type scenario rather than a clear the city one as AI re-enforcement's would continually be called in; how, I still don't know?
