Not sure if everyone got to see this, but IndyCar did their iRacing challenge race today, with the real IndyCar field (or a lot of it anyway):
Was super fun to watch. The commentators (who are the real IndyCar commentaors, Leigh Diffy, Townsend Bell and Paul Tracy) kept a nice serious, but fun, tone. They never sounded dismissive. At the end of the race I think the stream had nearly 40k viewers which is a nice number. I won't spoil the race but I will say the driver who won is an avid iRacer which isn't shocking.
In the grand scheme of things it's really cool to see sim racing get some time in the spot light. Obviously once real racing starts again that will take precedence but I think the exposure with IndyCar, NASCAR and Formula 1 all doing big sim events is only good for our hobby.
