Getting out of Rookie Class in iRacing is surprisingly simple and happens exceptionally fast. Once into D-Class and later C-Class, a bunch of new racing options present themselves.
I fully intend to complete all 13 weeks of the Mazda Cup but after that I’ll likely never race it again.
It is with this in mind I ask what series of racing are you guys most interested in the higher license classes?
…oh and just so you know, this is where it starts getting expensive!
Personally, I joined iRacing to race the Cadillac CTS-V and will likely do so in next seasons Global Challenge unless there is enough interest around here to race the Ruf Cup (Carrera Cup rip-off). I’ve already picked up the Ruf and it’s one sweet car to race. While I didn’t purchase iRacing for the Ruf, I’m very glad I picked it up because one goal of mine is to race guys like Jimmy Broadbent and of course, my Mentor, wheeldamage.
I plan to breeze through D-Class License as well and linger in C-Class for a very long time even if I’m promoted to B-Class which I don’t think will take too long.
Ultimately though for me, I’d love to race all the following regularly:
Lastly, little P and I have had the distinct pleasure of practicing with seasoned iRacers and it was a blast! I’ve been recording these sessions and may even start streaming them to Twitch to be uploaded to YouTube later.
If this seems like a better way to practice (which I believe it is), I’m going to pull in some guys from iRacing to our Teamspeak and hold “Practice Pals” Sessions here. There’s just no better way to practice because you’re racing people you can communicate with and constantly challenge each other on track.
I’ve even come up with a rough setup on how we’d run these sessions with whomever spins, crashes, etc., waiting in the Pits for the field to return and then MUST pull out and race in front. A 5 – 10 second head start will be afforded this/these individual(s) as their operating on cold tires that are not up to pressure yet.
This will give everyone the most racing experience possible because you’ll be forced to find new lines which often leads you to better lap times overall.
Thoughts on all the above?
