Hi all,

I'm in the process of upgrading my gaming PC and would appreciate some advice from the experts. My current configuration is beginning to struggle with newer games, and I want to ensure that I'm spending money on the correct components. The following is what I currently have:

CPU: Intel i5-9600K
GPU: GTX 1660 Super
RAM: 16GB DDR4 3200MHz
Motherboard: MSI Z390
Storage: 500GB SSD + 1TB HDD
PSU: 650W
I primarily play FPS and open-world games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Warzone, and I'd love to hit stable 144+ FPS at 1440p. Should I upgrade my GPU first (considering RTX 4070 or 7800 XT) or opt for a platform upgrade (perhaps AM5 or Intel 14th Gen)? and what is Generative ai

Also, is 16GB RAM sufficient enough, or do I need to opt for 32GB? Would appreciate any advice, particularly from people who have upgraded recently!

Thanks in advance!
Regards
joseph

I totally get where you’re coming from I’ve also faced issues with Cyberpunk not running smoothly, and because of that, I couldn’t even see the details clearly, like the design on david martinez jacket in the game. Upgrading your GPU first to an RTX 4070 or 7800 XT sounds like the best move to get those crisp graphics and hit that 144+ FPS at 1440p. 16GB RAM is still okay, but 32GB wouldn’t hurt for future proofing.
