Time Attack and the new UI

iRacing released a video today showing the new Time Attack mode and leader boards and the new in-sim UI (which should lessen the need to go back and forth to the website all the time).

Looks very good! (except the part where they add up all times, regardless of track size). Let's hope the UI can do everything the website does, only smoother.

Interesting, not sure I understand how that will work adding up the times, guess I'll have to see that.

I don't think they explained it well, but generally Time Attack is about points (at least as implemented in other places). The idea is that you get points by being within a certain amount of the fastest lap, and then it's added up. So track length doesn't matter, only how close you are to the best times. They kind of show that at the end with the rankings (with Pro being within 10% of top times).

For now they plan just to simply add up all of your fastest times and that number determines your rank. But it doesn't make sense. If Duke is 50% faster than me at Mid-Ohio but 10% slower at Nürburgring combined we will have almost identical total times.

Maybe they plan to weight it against the total available time. So if you didn't run Mid-Ohio at all, it would be weighted in to your final time.

Probably the average, with an error range (so completely unrealistic times, fast or slow, are not part of the average). This is all just a guess, I have no basis for this outside of my own head.
