Hello,
You are receiving this PM because you are the Team Representative for one or more entries in the Bathurst 12 Hour race occurring February 27th, 2016. This is an informational PM only and does not need to be replied to unless:
-You or someone on your team has questions
-Your team would like to withdraw their entry from the race
I will be hosting a practice session on February 20th beginning at 2200GMT and running for 4 hours. This session will be set-up for teams. The session will not have a password, so I recommend getting in their early. I will set the track state to roughly 10% less than it will be for the start of the session next weekend, so you can get a rough idea of what the track state will before the final practice, qualifying, and race. I will post the results (assuming iRacing’s website is cooperating and I can access them) in the Results post in the thread (third post down from the original I believe).
Here is some information and reminders your team should be thinking about leading up to the event next week.
1) The grid looks to be 100% full at this time, which means there can be no mistakes when joining the server. Please practice joining team sessions this week; ensure all of your members know how to join the correct team. One mistake resulting in an “extra team” by mistake could prevent another team from registering and racing. We do not want that to happen. I highly recommend designating one person on your team who will register the car itself and then have all other drivers join the team afterward, that way there is no confusion about who is supposed to register the actual car.
2) I am not sure if trading paints is still having issues or not with team paints; it seemed like TP was sort of working for the Daytona 24 but not entirely. If you have a paint scheme you would like everyone to see I recommend uploading the file in a reply in the race thread so other teams can download it and display it just in case TP is still having issues.
3) In the event iRacing has a server issue and the race is unable to run, please check the original thread for details on whether or not the race will be rescheduled.
4) Bathurst is a long, difficult track, this is a friendly reminder that a balanced set-up and keeping the car clean will likely help your team finish higher in the running. I recommend all of your drivers have a lot of practice before joining the race. The field is full of a lot of talented drivers so I expect the competition to be very close. Coming unprepared will affect your race and others’ races potentially.
5) If you have not looked over the original post in the thread recently please do so and have your drivers do so. Take some time to thank Just Fans of Sim Racing for providing the prizes as well as check out the certificate template I have uploaded for podium finishers.
6) If your team can no longer participate and would like to withdraw your entry, please let me know as soon as possible so I can add a waitlisted team to the grid and give them ample time to prepare for the event. There is no penalty for withdrawing your entry before the event, if fact I will appreciate your honesty and kindness toward the waitlisted teams allowing them a spot.
As an added plug, if you are interested in a much more relaxed and for fun event, please consider passing along the information and/or signing up for my
Mobil "Fun" 1.2 Hours of Sebring which will take place on March 5th.
I look forward to seeing you all next weekend. Once again please reply to this if you have questions, need to switch car models in Class A (you cannot switch classes, just the car model your team will use), or if you need to withdraw your entry. Thank you.
Sincerely, Elliot Meme
