Hey all,

We've been running this League for a while now and I think it's time we discuss what's working and what is not at the end of this Season.

I have an agenda in mind for discussion but need to hear from you what you think would help bolster our numbers.

What I'll be pushing for is rewards for those who participate regularly and for clean driving. I've commented on this a few times and have met with criticism in some areas but when the outcome is uncertain there is no reason not to try new things.

This ties in with Deck Keyboards and another sponsor I'm looking to approach in regards to annual (not Seasonal) prize drawings.

This is an important meeting to attend for those interested in having your voice heard so please attend if you can.

Also, by all means feel free to share your ideas here so we can get discussion rolling.

Meeting will take place at the usual start time, 7:30 PM EST.

The following are edits based off what I took away from the Meeting. If I missed something, please feel free to chime in and I'll adjust as necessary.

Of note, once finalized everything here will go into a changelog so we can track these discussions off version history.
  1. Season Schedule: Adjust as necessary given Christmas Holidays/New Years. Drivers to vote on track replacements as normal (such as for COTA).
  2. League Point System: The goal is to keep Driver scoring as close as possible while providing a level playing field. Getting this correct is crucial as it can motivate or deter Drivers to participate weekly.
    1. Current Scoring System of 50 (winner), 45 (2nd), 44 (3rd), 42, 40, 38, 36, 34, 32, 30, -2 for each lesser position.
    2. Test 1 Scoring: coming soon
    3. Test 2 Scoring: coming soon
    4. Test 3 Scoring: coming soon
  3. League Point System: Rewards and Penalties
    1. Current rewards for leading lap, and penalties for every 10 incidents.
    2. Test 1:
      1. Reward - Finish Race (90% of laps): 10 points
      2. Reward - No incidents (90% of laps): 5 points
      3. Penalize - 10 incidents: -5 points
  4. Vehicle Switching: Drivers are permitted 1 vehicle change/Season. Additional vehicle switching will result in no points scored until reverting back to original vehicle chosen.
  5. League Population: Update topic in iRacing Membersite Forums. Provide regular updates to that League topic to keep it bumped.
    1. Discussed option to share among clubs (such as Canada Club) at iRacing Membersite.
  6. 103% pace rule working, permanently implemented.
  7. End of year Member Promotion (YouTube): The end of the year we'll create a short 5 - 10 minute recap video for 3 Drivers. Drivers will be named with attention focusing on Season accomplishment with links to their YouTube, Twitter, Twitch, etc. (Member Marketing).
  8. B2O Endurance theme will be reworked for 2017 - 2018 utilizing a much wider Red on Red Hood/Roof/Trunk scheme. Where possible, hood will wrap around grille and may also occupy trunk rear (above bumper). Red may also be brightened slightly, testing and feedback required.
  9. Sponsorship General: Promoters (official B2O Twitch Streamers) willing to add Sponsor Lists to their Stream Info pages and Tweet whenever going live on Twitch?
  10. Sponsorship: These are companies willing to Cross promote B2O, B2O Racing Programs and/or provide annual gifts to B2O League.
    1. Deck will likely be removed for 2017 - 2018 liveries, tbd.
    2. Crimson: Davey to furnish details to Ken on who to discuss cross promotion with Crimson.
    3. Ken will open dialogue with DSD Button Boxes.

A couple of things I would like to bring up are :

The "Points reward " thing also needs a discussion about penalties for various infringements. It would be cool if someone could post the amount of points in a table you get for winning , 2nd , 3rd and so on so we can compare it to the current penalty/reward system as without numbers its a bit pointless bringing up rewards/deductions.

Current car roster, are we keeping the cars we have at the moment as is?

Car switching when people feel like driving something else, would like to have a discussion about this too.

Point distribution:
Code:
1. 50
2. 46
3. 44
4. 42
5. 40
6. 38
7. 36
8. 34
9. 32
10. 30
And then it keeps going down by 2 each position I think.

If possible I'd like to change this so all positions are separated by only 1 or 2 points.

The closer these gaps the more people are going to race to gain an advantage over their nearest competitor.

I want to thank all of you who attended for your valuable feedback.

The discussions were quite healthy and it was terrific to gain insight from a number of varying points of view.

From my standpoint, I want to ensure we're continually evolving and creating an experience that is just too difficult for Drivers to miss. The moment we stop innovating is the moment we begin to stagnate and become just another anonymous league within iRacing.

Thinking something won't work is not the same as knowing something won't work from experience. I found this out early in the process with my stance on fixed setups and I could not have been more incorrect given the bigger picture.

We will not allow this thinking to become a roadblock.

Changes will always be considered and are easily tested alongside the official results. I think a few Seasons of this type of testing may yield results we'd not yet considered and may go a long way toward populating the field regularly.

At the end of the day it's about keeping it entertaining for our existing Drivers while enticing new Drivers to join in the fun.
