2019 24 Hours of SPA

Are we going to be doing 24 Hours of SPA. Since @Skid_Marc_ usually coordinates the endurance races and he is out, do folks want to race this? There are two times, see below:

SATURDAY 13:00 GMT / 9AM EDT
The 24 Hours of Spa is an endurance race held in Belgium at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps since 1923. It is the third round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge Series in the real world.

Audi R8 LMS / Mercedes AMG GT3 / BMW Z4 GT3 / McLaren MP4-12C GT3 / Ford GT GT3 / Ferrari 488 GT3

I'd probably drive the Ferrariiiarriiarriiiiiii. Not sure I have the will to drive any other GT3 car for 24 hours :|

I am fastest on SPA in the Ferrari and have a decent set up. Able to get down in the 16s on full fuel, will probably do a VRS race in it tonight. I think it is a good compromise car that probably everyone can drive. The AMG is good too. I would give the McLaren a shot as well, but I don't think anyone likes that car.

I'll be on tonight if you both want to turn some laps.

I think we'll need at least one more person for this to be viable though.

Agreed, I think we need 4 - 6 folks depending on how much people want to drive.

Yeah, I'll be around tonight. Got my VR headset repaired enough to last me a couple months until my Index reservation comes up. So I'm back in the game. I did a few warm up laps at Spa in the Ferrari last night but I didn't have a decent set.

e: I think 4 people is the minimum. I've done a 24 hour race with 3 people, and it's doable, but uncomfortable. It's incredibly exhausting to drive in anger for 8 hours over a 24 hour period.

Sorry guys, really struggling to get my PC working after Windows Update.

It wouldn't start my main monitor, recognize my Webcam or allow my mic to work.

Still working on trying to get it all fixed.

I firmly believe that Windows has become sentient and hates you, or someone at Microsoft actively hates you. Never known someone with as many Windows/driver/update related issues as you seem to suffer

I did an FFS tonight on a recent VRS set with full fuel. Their regular set felt way too floaty and oversteery to me, but their 'safe' setup felt decent enough. I'll be interested to try Deb's.

The car felt good everywhere, but Eau Rouge was tough to hit consistently. If you take too much kerb on the exit out on to the straight, it's wiggle death. The TC in these cares makes them so hard to catch when you get a high speed moment.

I hate Windows, honestly.

I uninstalled my last updates and then reinstalled them assuming there was some sort of corruption in the process. This update just went weird because it happened and I didn't really know it was happening and something about the restart loop it does wasn't right.

I hadn't streamed since that time and everything seemed to be working fine with the exception of light boost on my BenQ main monitor.

I simply disabled it and carried on.

The Wecam not being recognized still makes no sense to me as it was perfectly fine before the update, nothing changed there. However reseating it in the USB port fixed the issue.

As for the mic., I'm still not sure it's working as intended?

It tuns out the volume was all the way down and I'm still unsure how that happens? I have a hotkey for muting but have never adjusted the volume since building this computer.

It seems to be working now but I think it sounds like crap.

I guess I'll find out in TS how it truly sounds as you'll all be subjected to it.

@Kenadian, I hope you get it all working, that is sooooooo frustrating

I think the setup I am using is a VRS setup although I may have done some tweaks. It seems pretty grounded to me and gets through Eau Rouge. Now if I could just stop the darn off tracks

How much of the inside kerb are you taking coming out of Eau Rouge on the straight? That's where danger town was for me. You gain soooo much speed clipping that kerb, it launches you down the straight...but you take an inch too much it unsettles the car as it comes off the kerb and if you have too much wheel in it starts a GT3 TC wiggle death.

I have a very specific strategy for Eau Rouge. I take a lot of the outside corner going in, lift just slightly as I am moving over to the right and, turn in to the right fairly early. Hug the curb on the right with hammer down. It usually works better for me if the lift and turn in is quite early.

I'll be on tonight for sure. You may have to deal with a crap mic but I'll configure push to talk if it becomes an issue.

Coming off the curb sounds like a rebound setting, hopefully there's room in vcr to dial it up a bit.

I'm not even sure we have enough Drivers for the Ferrari at this point.

My guess is we'll be fielding 1 car at the most for this event.
