I don't know if ED is planning to make a WW2 combat sim. Maybe it's a start, maybe it's just for the FSX crowd who want to fly a plane as real as it gets. One of the ED testers states that flying in CloD is pretty much simplyfied in comparison to ED's level of flight simulation.

At the level of detail and rate ED produce planes I'm not sure Oleg has much to be worried about. All the FSX addon developers might though!

A WWII sim from ED would vertainly be interesting!
I doubt, however, that we'll see a flightsim as packed with planes representing so many countries like IL-2 ever again.

Oleg doesn't worry about the IL2 series anymore. A pity.

So I heard! I guess he was sick of all the complainers on the various IL2 forums and the negative reaction that COD got, despite it being a pretty good sim.

Actually he was kinda kicked out by 1c long before CoD was released. Rumor has it he packed up in 10/2010.
