On 3/1/13 our DayZ server will be returning to Fragtard. Duke and I will be setting it up Thursday night. We are currently discussing pricing information with our Host. We will be using the same Host we used before as they provided a very reliable service and answered CSR and Tech tickets quickly.
We will have custom anti-cheat to attempt to combat the hackers. This will be a constantly evolving effort as the cheats that are used constantly change. Time and patience will have to be given to find a system that works effectively.
At current there is a wide "want" from our DayZ server. By that I mean a lot of people want a lot of different things, so we will be simply leaving it up to a community vote, for now.
In the poll above are the map/mod options for our server. I will list them here with a quick description for those that have yet to play may have an idea/interest in that game mode.
Chernarus - Standard: This is the standard Chernarus map, the map offers the standard DayZ mode with no additions. It is the map that everybody knows and loves and is a guarenteed hit. This map has an extremely huge playerbase.
Chernarus - DayZ+: This is the standard Chernarus map, slightly edited. However, this map and mod offers an askewed DayZ Mod that has been continued to be coded by the community. The map has additions like constructable ladders, additional weapons and vehicles, and large changes to zombies which make them a real threat, rather than an annoyance that simply get in the way of PvP. There is also the ability to build player-made "bases" with in-game items. This map has a small player-base.
DayZ Namalsk: This is another modified-ruleset version of DayZ featuring what can only be described as an industrial-military island that no one lives on. There is a serious lack of residentials on this island that make it a genuine challenge to survive on. You are constantly cold on the island as it appears to be Antarctica's Asshole. The "end game" to this map is finding warm-clothing that stop you from getting cold, surviving from the "bloodsuckers" and "Blowouts", and finding the legendary gauss rifle, which is a sniper rifle that does a bazillion damage and has no bullet drop. This map has a medium-sized playerbase.
DayZ Taviana: This map features, for the most part, the original DayZ ruleset and is simply a second map choice. The map is composed of two large islands connected by a large golden-gate style suspension bridge. You spawn on the south side of the bottom-right island and, similar to Chernarus, must move north to find the good loot. There are also several smaller islands out in the ocean that can only be reached by boat or helicopter. This map also has a large playerbase.
DayZ Panthera: This map features, like Taviana, an original DaYZ ruleset and is simply another map choice. The map features mostly lush jungle with a mountainous interious. There are military installations along the coast. This map has a medium playerbase.
