On March 28, Road Warrior is doing 12h of Sebring. Cars are: HPD and GT3.
I'm still looking for detailed info page.

Anyone up for it? I'm open for HPD, Ruf and Ford.

UPDATE

We've managed to gather enough people to run the event with reasonable stint lengths. Kevin (thank you!) put together the Google doc
( https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14WFCVCH0rN08pVCEYAoZ6zHEjvN9_CFyyMLU8QdjsS0/edit#gid=0 ) with the schedule, fuel, etc etc. He'll need your email if you wish to view it.

I've created a team named B2O Racing, unless Ken doesn't approve so we can run the event under the flag of Band of Others. As Peeble asked, if Daunt is able to, it would be nice to have a special paint in the style of "12h of Sebring". I will stream the majority of the event, including having broadcast-style overlays when I'll be spotting.

If anyone else wishes to join, PM me or Kevin to plan the stints. We're driving the Ruf.

I'm planning on trying to solo it, likely in the McLaren. It's gonna hurt but it would be a good feeling if you can complete it.

I believe minimum is 2 drivers. Someone PMed me about driving in a Macca, want me to send him to you?

I know it's a minimum of 2 drivers... if you want the points :). I'm not after the points, I'll be disqualified at the end but it's only about the driving there for me.

I am interested in driving the Ruf Track - and would love to have 3 to 4 drivers to work with that day.
Please contact me if you are interested.

We did the GT3 Endurance race (3h) today as practice for the 12h, went pretty well. We're still looking for a few more drivers for the full 12 so if anyone's interested let us know!

And here's Kevin summary of the race. Thanks Kevin!

Hi Team,

The 3 hours of Sebring was an amazing success today Sunday March 22nd. I want to thank everyone who joined both driver and commentator! Some of you dropped by, but I don't have your email address - so if any of you know Toms or Bam's email address - please add them to this email and get them on the chain.

The event started out with Dino taking an almost flat 2:02 qualifying run with the Porsche Track - and a nice run. Unfortunately, an agressive driver punted him from the rear, not once, but THREE times, giving him 8x before we even started the event. Regardless, Dino shook it off, and produced the best average lap time for the whole group with a solid opening run - and a white knuckle 1st lap start. The colorful start was a pre-cursor to come, as each driver in the run would experience an underwear coloring situation during each of their own runs.

Dino's run came to and end, and Kevin Hill took over the reigns, and settled into a solid performance, with 0x caused. Just like Dino, Kevin too had a white knuckle event when a back marker brake checked and had Kevin standing on the binders praying that the poor tortured tires would hold the car out of the back end of the offending racer. Luckily it did, and Kevin brought the #72 Ruf into the pits for Peeble to take over in 10th place.

Peeble joined the run, he pulled out of the pits in 21st and started a solid run for 21 laps where he contended with several front runners who seemed intent on running him off course in their excitement to pass. All the time Fuel calculations were being run, and pit strategies were being made.

Finally, coming in as the closer, Timothy Mulvihill took the wheel and had some of the tightest racing of the session. Tim's white knuckle event came in Turn 1 with the leader taking a slow pass around him, which cause the rear end to break loose, and put the team into the pits to use the Free repair. Not phased, Tim powered the #72 car to the finish line for a solid finish in a field of many teams where only 1 driver was used, and only 3 pit stops were completed.

Overall the proper strategy would have been 3 pit stops with a very, very tight finish. 300 liters of fuel *MIGHT* make it to the end of the 3 hours assuming that the pace lap was not too deep into sipping into the starting fuel tank.

The team worked well together, and discovered a few hitches that will be well observed in the 12 hours of sebring next weekend.

Thanks everyone for your participation - I did not think it would be as much fun as it was! The endurance aspect really, REALLY changes the race experience.

We still have 3 hours that are not covered next weekend, if you know of a solid racer, who is consistent with 2:04's or 2:05's and has a high safety rating, let them know we're looking for 1-2 more drivers.

Thanks again everyone,

Kevin

Hi Guys!

The Band of Others Racing Team of Tim, Kevin, Dino and Peeble all completed the full 3 hours of sebring today, Sunday March 22nd. The race was from 12 Noon to 3pm PST or 3pm to 6pm EST. Many of you dropped by Team Speak to say hello - which was much appreciated!

The 3 hours of Sebring was an amazing success today Sunday March 22nd. I want to thank everyone who joined both driver and commentator! Some of you dropped by, but I don't have your email address - so forgive me if you did not get the email chain I sent out to the team earlier today.

RACE RECAP:

The event started out with Dino taking an almost flat 2:02 qualifying run with the Porsche Track. Well done Dino! Unfortunately, an aggressive driver punted him from the rear, not once, but THREE times, giving him 8x before we even started the event. It was so aggressive that Dino slowed to a stop on the track in turn 11 and sat for almost 25 seconds with the other driver right behind him. LOL. With his point made, Dino pulled off and cranked his best lap of the day for qualifying. Take that Mutha Flippa!! LOL.

Dino further shook off the love taps and produced the best average lap time for the whole group with a solid opening run - and a white knuckle 1st lap start. The colorful start was a pre-cursor to come, as each driver in the run would experience an underwear coloring situation during each of their own runs. Let's just say that I am now convinced that on the track Dino can take it up the ass multiple times in a race car, and run like a scalded cat! LOL - just kidding Dino.

Dino's run came to and end and Kevin Hill took over the reigns, and settled into a solid performance, with 0x incidents during his run. Just like Dino, Kevin too had a white knuckle event when a back marker brake checked and had Kevin standing on the binders praying that the poor tortured tires would hold the car out of the back end of the offending racer. For the most part - Kevin ran the most consistent run of the series with a steady mid 2:03 to low 2:04 for almost every lap. Kevin brought the #72 Ruf into the pits 20 laps into his run and turned the #72 Ruf over to Peeble in 10th place overall.

Peeble joined the run he pulled out of the pits in 21'st and started a solid run for 21 laps where he contended with several front runners who seemed intent on running him off course in their excitement to pass. Peeble's run was a solid performance all around turning in 21 laps, and spirits were very high all around as we'd made history for the Band of Others crew. Yes - almost 60 laps with no major damage!

Finally, coming in as the closer, Timothy Mulvihill took the wheel and had some of the tightest racing of the session. Tim's white knuckle event came in Turn 1 about 10 laps into his run, where the Band of Others curse would raise it's head. With the leader taking a slow pass around him in turn 1, this caused the rear end to break loose on the #72 and put the team into the pits to use the Free repair. Not phased, Tim powered the #72 car to the finish line for a solid finish in a field of many teams where only 1 driver was used, and only 3 pit stops were completed.
