"This season adds the long awaited Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans to the iRacing service! Some extensive updates to the Dynamic Track System have also been added that should increase the realism of heat mapping and make rubber have a bit more of an impact on your race. Brake bias adjustment is now also available in Fixed Setup Series to a small host of vehicles. Your experience at night tracks has been improved with the new Dynamic Night Shadow Maps system, and every vehicle windshield should now appear more realistic with real-time reflections. A new character model has taken the driver’s seat and is also positioned in the pits, and you should start to see wind-animated flags appearing at race courses. We are also launching preliminary support for OpenVR / HTC Vive headsets, and antialiasing in our virtual reality views. All of these along with a host of setup updates, bug fixes, and other enhancements are here for the 2016 Season 4 Release."

ooooooooooooh... dammit I was trying to hold out for the special offer yearly renewal thingie they do near Christmas, might have to buy a 3 month sub to tide me over based on this info. When does Season 4 start?

Especially tempting as I just got my replacement G29 (right paddle shifter not working correctly) through today...

Season 4 update will launch I believe next Tuesday. That is week 13 which they use to iron out any issues and have those "not to serious" week-long events.

Honestly looks incredible. The attention to detail is great and every new track is better and better. More lifelike than ever.

I can't wait for the surprise on Sept 13... I'll be paying attention in England. It says they're ADDING it for S4, not announcing.... what EVER could it be?

Anyone want to take bets? LMP1? Dirt?

I don't think it's something heavily content based like that. Otherwise they won't have week 13 to test it out and we all know how a big release in iRacing will turn out if it isn't tested properly.

That said, I have no idea what it is. It should make both road and oval racers happy because otherwise one of the groups will rage for decades on the forums.

Somebody mentioned (it may have been Davey) that the surprise could be a new pace car.

That would be cool for sure as I'd love to see an Audi bring the field to green in GT3.

Some have suggested it might be pit crews since that has not been previously announced.

Right now the sight is down so may be another long wait like when Nurburgring was rolled out. Hopefully not.
