Information regarding drive Time and Team Registration

>> SCHEDULE <<

The above schedule has an "Availability" tab!

  • Please color code the hours in which you are available to drive during the race!
  • Please add the number of consecutive stints you are willing to drive (1, 2, or 3) in the bottom row of the chart!
  • Please add the your prefered race time slot at the bottom row of the chart!
  • Names have been added based on reactions in this thread and in Discord. If your name isn't listed, please just use an empty column add yourself to the list.

Please note that just adding your name in this thread does NOT guarantee a seat in the actual race. You MUST show up to group practice sessions before the event! The final teams will only be made up of drivers that practice and actively participate in this thread! The sooner we can confirm everyone who is racing, the sooner we can finish the schedule and finalize paints!

Turns out that this race is already less than two weeks away. Nejtun and I started raceing the P2 again and would like to participate in the Daytona 24h with it.
Based on the participation in the IMSA series so far, this seems like the best chance to get into a multi-class split with all classes present.

Anyone else interested in the race?

Side note: The IMSA endurance series is also at Daytona next weekend (January 14-15). That is a 160 minute race.

I'm hoping to run the Roar this weekend and interested in Daytona.

For Daytona my first choice is GT3 but if I'm needed to round out P2 I could prolly make it work; need some practice though as I don't think I've ever run it.

Yay, replies!

I've updated the first post with stated car preferences and prepared and added a schedule.
Please add your availability and prefered consecutive stints and race time slots.

I'm okay with the LMP2 or a GT3, would prefer the Ferrari. I am out of town this Friday until Tuesday, so as soon as I get back, I'll start practicing in the car everyone decides on. I volunteer at the Animal Shelter on Saturday mornings, so I happy to do just 2 or 3 stints, assuming one hour stints, but the P2 likely has shorter stints.

Hey all! with just 4 days left to practice before the race it is time to pin down exactly what we are all driving.
From the OP it looks like everyone is pretty flexible.
IMSA is at Dayton all week and looks like a night race but great for traffic practice nonetheless!

Only My, Deb's and Hans' names are in the schedule currently so if @Kenadian @Skid_Marc_ and @Kinger (plus anyone else who has expressed an interest, although those are the only ones I have heard of wanting to compete) could put in their availability it would take some of the pressure off a little regarding which car to practice in and organising drive times.

As far as I know, Everyone owns the LMP2, the BMW M4 GT3 and the Porsche GT3, If need be I will buy the Ferrari as it has use elsewhere, but if nobody has a preference or a car they would flat out vito then it would be nice to choose from the most available pool!

I know a few people have limited time this week to practice and Ken will want to put the correct names on the car at some point.

Cheers! :)

What Nejt wrote.

From the list of GT3 cars, I do own the BMW M4 GT3 and Porsche GT3, so I would prefer one of the two. I'll buy the Ferrari as well, if required.

I thought we were all driving the Dallara, no?

That's why I skinned it lol.

I'm available throughout the race however prefer early start since I stream the entire race. Not really a fan of driving after midnight PST as I'm usually completely burned out by that time.

Not sure where the setup is posted so I've been running one from Craigs Setup Shop and managed to get into the high 36's with it.

I'm struggling with consistency though so my average laptime is closer to 37.5 - 37.7.

@ShadniX, @Nejtun, can you please post the setup you guys are running?

Also, anyone available to turn laps 1 - 4 AM PST this week please let me know.

I will give the craig one a try, Marc tried some stuff with clutch plates so he can tell you about that , I have tried the VRS "safe" setup and normal , the normal one is a bit faster.
Brake bias is (for me) a big thing in both lap times and car stability, I believe these are both at 49.5 (started at 47.5)
They have 75 litres of fuel in them but if you go into an IMSA session you will be restricted to 63 litres so keep this in mind when going back into a S24 session if you save it while in IMSA

I can do 1- 4 am PST both Wednesday and Thursday, waiting for a delivery tomorrow so, won't be able to do a race until it arrives(practice is cool as I can just hop out and get the courier), but can race on Thursday (or whatever you want to do then)

Not sure why iRacing felt the need to push the start of Race #3 forward another hour... as if a 5am PST wasn't early enough, now we have to be up and registered by 4am PST? Like, what fucking monster wants to be up that fucking early? What the fuck is iRacing even doing? Who is 13:00 GMT too inconvenient for?

Thanks Nejt.

Brake bias is certainly a thing for me as well. So far the lowest I've been able to run and keep the car stable is 50.0.

I can't believe how twitchy this car can be though. I tried using 2nd gear through Turn 3 and Turn 5 but the car is miserably slow then. I'm far quicker going down to 1st gear but throttle control is hugely important or the tail end just takes off, reminds me of the V8 in this regard.

I wish I didn't have a club foot, this kind of throttle control is not easy when your foot only bends 90 degrees.

Seems odd, I can't even think what kind of zombie I'm going to be now.

Do we maybe want to consider the Friday night race?

I'm ok with starting Friday night, if that is more convient for everyone. That'll probably mean I'll be around for the start and then fall to bed and be around for the last 16-18 hours of the race, but I'm ok with that.

Random other note: Alex backed out and won't be driving.

To have a starting point for discussion, I've thrown together a schedule based on the availability for the Friday night race with the goal to give everyone ample time for sleep during the night. At least I hope that is the case... @Kenadian @Skid_Marc_ : You were both in the PST timezone, right?

Feel free to comment or move stints around.
