AAR - Arma2 event 13.03.2012

[Leimboy]

The mission for tonight was MercenariesVanilla set in Takistan.
As mercenaries we were to solve missions and earn money to buy more and better equipment. Tonight we were just four (Wotan, Wapwap, svartoghvit and Leimboy) and thus was a bit undermanned for the tasks we were given. Also, there was a lot of enemies on this mission as they were respawning (though I'm not sure what triggered that. It might have been the chopper flying around...). Anyway, our first mission was to destroy three captured HUMVEEs. We managed to take out one of them before ENDEX. Very fun game with lots of firefights and tactical challenges.
Svartoghvit was team leader on this mission and did that role very well! I'd like to see more of that in the future

So you guys didn't manage to destroy another humvee? What happened?

 

[Leimboy]

We met a wall of resistance and were probably bogged down. Also, the enemy T-72 didn't help much to speed us up either (as we were armed only with a single RPG-7). We called it a night shortly after that.
Next time we'll be better prepared. Buy more stuff earlier to get better hardware, move faster and focus on the primary goal of the missions. Also, having two medics insted of just one will speed up things as we don't have to respawn all the time and being just more people will help very much at keeping the enemy away
Also, when I think of it, we could have solved this mission with three Javelins fired a couple of clicks away from the enemy strongholds LOL

We didn't have enough money for Javelins before we destroyed the first Humvee, or did we? Then it was a little stupid for us to take on all the enemies - but fun!

That's right Wotan, we didn't have the money. In fact I didn't think of the money until we ended the mission back at camp
I'm not sure of the cost of the crate with Javelins and I'm not sure how we earn them (probably by killing enemies as well?). I think we'll have enough money to buy launchers after a short raid or something, so next time we'll check the account more often
I think it was quite fun to take on the enemy hordes. Intense and fun!
