AMD has today revealed a new API that intends to replace DirectX.
It makes graphics faster and better and it's OPEN to use by Intel and
nVidia as well!!

It will be in place for BF4 to choose for those with AMD cards improving performance with miles :D

This is most likely the graphics API / Engine that Valve will use since it's open and cross compatible and developed to work on both consoles and PC's. AMD is in both Xbox and Playstation after all.

That's one of the reasons I stayed with AMD when my old 7970 acted up. I was counting on better support for AMD by the game makers because of this.

But DirectX is not only about graphics, it's about input, network and sound, too. We'll see what this new API will bring us in the future. BF4 better performing is a nice bonus.

No, completely different from OGL and DX,
Completely open source and available for all hardware manufacturers
but initially only AMD of course. It's a API designed to produce machine
code communicating directly with the GPU and avoiding the bloatware
DX mainly.
