Anyone playing Assassins Creed 3?

Just wondering if anyone else is playing this game and your thoughts on it so far?

I picked it up on a Steam Sale recently and so far it's horribly disappointing. It's much clearer that this version is a port because the control schema is just crap as compared to Assassins Creed 2. Also, some of the graphics particularly in cuts cenes are very dodgy.

So far I'm only in about 2 hours and I can't say I've enjoyed any of it.

Does it get any better?

I'm probably about half way through the main story. IMHO it gets better once you control Connor; the first few hours, while interesting story-wise, are not very exciting to play.
I do agree that they streamlined the controls even more towards controllers, but I can't abandon mouse+keyboard, so I've been trying to work with that.

My 2 biggest gripes:
* too many quicktime events (same as FC3) - I hate these as I have to use macros or get my wife to do the button-mashing for me
* lateron, in the wilderness, it is too often unclear what you can and can't climb

I've barely touched the MP and am mostly playing FC3 right now, so it had to take a bit of a back seat the last few weeks.

I'm playing it on the PS3 and I do enjoy it very much. Trying to read most of the database entries for all the persons and events and learn a little history, too.
