Thanks to Ogami and Rolfy for joining this event. It turned out to be quite long for a "quick and easy" mission (sorry Rolfy!)
The mission was simple. Find and destroy a weapon cache in enemy hands. It sounds like this should take too long, right? Not so. It turned out to be three defended positions where these caches were and they were all heavily patrolled.
They were also scattered over a very large area so finding them was as much guessing as it was based on luck. It was nearly one hour into the mission before we spotted the first camp.
A tiny fragment of the search area. Little did we know that we had to go beyond the horizon to find the first camp. By foot. Occasionally hindered by enemy patrols.
Finally! Target spotted. Well defended and with no cover for us. We had to engage from 600+ meters. Lots of ammo was wasted that day...
When we finally captured the caches we spotted another camp with caches. Fuuuu...
At least this time we had an advantage as there were two heavy MGs in the captured camp. With these two and Ogami's sniper rifle the second camp were quickly defeated.
After that we looked around the desert for the third and last camp, but it were nowhere to find. Ogami suggested we head for the town of Chak Chak which were on the other side of the search area (and quite a driving distance as well). Oh well, we might as well do that since it was getting late and Rolfy had an early morning waiting for him. This would be our last effort at finding the camp and the caches before we cancelled the mission and got home.
Driving through Chak Chak at full speed we suddenly spotted a camp just outside the town border. This was it! The last one.
We quickly parked our trusty UAZ ang got into position.
Shortly after we could place the last satchel and finish the mission properly. Yay!
And that with not one single casualty! Rolfy got some scratches but he healed up nicely with some bandages. Besides that we were untouchable.
Now it was time to call for a taxi home. The only pilot at work today was mr. Yellowbelly Mc.Fearful. We had to convince him several times to get him to our position.
And finally he arrived!
It got worse when we took off and left the area. It turned out that one enemy patrol had survived and was now harassing our dear pilot. He turned back three times before we fooled him to fly another route back home. It was a long flight with no incidents (just what our pilot prefers).
Finally at home and mission end. Good work team!
It was a very fun mission, especially in the end when everything got hectic compared to the first half of the mission

Rolfy was unlucky with his loadout today. Scope was king today and he only had the CCO.
Thanks for a great event guys!
