This Tuesday we'll be playing the main mission with the mod Invasion '44.
Please download this mod before Tuesday as it is quite heavy, weighing in at 3GB+

Our main mission is [I44] COOP Patrol 1-16 v0.3.
What team(s) we'll be will depend on how many are joining and what equipment they want to use so I'm not dedicating anyone yet. We'll choose positions at mission start.

The year is 1944, December 21st. American troops must scout the German positions to the north of Bastogne.

Who's joining this Tuesday?
I'll be on fragtard TS from 2000 CET as usual.

Sweet!
I've also heard from Arne that he will join so we'll most likely be two teams in this mission as each team is only four men. Should be interesting.

Hope you'll be there Bracer! This may be one of our biggest turnouts yet, so the mission has the potential to be one of our best as well :D

Great missions yesterday people! And with six of us taking on the missions we did incredible things LOL
It also helped a lot that I didn't die in the first five minutes of the game ;)

So, what do we think of the Invasion44 mod after having tested it for an hour?
I had a great time in the patrol mission we played but there was a few things that annoyed me:
Hand signals - they conflict with the way I've configured my keyboard and I didn't find a quick way to turn them off or reconfigure the keys for it (I'll look for a solution for this though).
Weapons - I had a M1 Carbine and it sometimes didn't register a hit on the enemy even when fired point blank and in the chest (widest possible target). Granted, this may be a feature.
Medic - Not working as intended, but this is obviously a bug and will be fixed.
Wounded screams - Could be toned down a little. Unbearable when all of us is hit by artillery and you have five guys crying around you LOL

What I liked about it was the low-tech luxury of WWII, the overall feel of the mod and the solid state it was in.
I would love to do more missions with this mod when the above points are fixed.
What do you guys think?

I think it's a fun mod, despite the few things things that you mentioned, it's pretty solid. Adds a nice new feeling and atmosphere to the game, something totally different. I'm up for more missions in the future with this mod if the 'bugs' are fixed, especially the medic.

Yup, it was quite solid and the medic was probably the only real bug (but a biggie though).
I'm sure we're going back to 1944 again in the near future (hopefully they patch fast ;))

I too enjoyed the mission we played. The fog, the crunching sounds when moving in the snow, the coughing and the deadly mortars made for the very atmosphere you have in Bands of Brothers.

Don't complain about the hand signals Leimboy - it spared me a teamkill and you the crying after having been wounded by a 0.30. Apropos crying: It actually helps finding the wounded. When Haja was lying in the foxhole, I would never have found him without that.

When they fix the medic, I absolutely want to go 1944 again. I very much enjoyed the sp mission where you play a German sniper helping out to defend a village against the Yanks.

Second mission of the evening was great too. Very intense fighting and suspense with us coming out on top, is worth to be remembered for quite some time. :D

That's true Wotan, the atmosphere in that mission was excellent!
The pointing may have prevented a teamkill, but it also prevented me to run, aim while walking and firing snapshots after moving (because the animation of the hand signal had to play through before I got my rifle back and could aim). So, to me personally, it's a drawback :p
Fixing the medic is necessary, and hopefully they will consider making the screams less frequent - maybe only play them when you click on "call for help" when wounded. You're right that they help finding wounded guys, so in itself it's quite useful.
