Assassins Creed Syndicate

I've passed on the last few Assassins Creed games (played a little of Black Flag and soooo glad I passed on Unity) but this one has piqued my interest as it's set in London, which very few games are for some reason (insert joke about bad teeth here - Duke I'm looking at you).

Previews say that it's a return to the first Ezio era games which were just brilliant. So I'll be keeping a close eye on this one and might pick it up. Just wondered if anyone else enjoyed the AC games and like me gave the latest few a pass as it all got a bit "gimmicky".

Syndicate is supposed to be a return to what made the franchise great, brilliant storytelling, engaging characters (Jacob and Evie are supposed to be a fantastic double act) excellent combat, historical figures to interact with, peerless visuals, and generally assassinating fools like a boss.

If anything it should scratch the itch of a good singleplayer game until Rise of the Tomb Raider drops on PC. I refuse to play that game on console, no way could it do the game justice.

In fact I may as well chuck the Xbox One in the bin now after the sham that is COD: Black Ops 3 (900p blur fest and it struggles to get a minimum 30fps, I mean come on).

AC: Syndicate has pulled in some great reviews on console so just wondered who else is interested now it's being released for PC masterace....

Well I picked it up with DLC for £18.90 through CDKeys.com, brilliant price considering it's £49.99 for the basic game on Steam.

So... shocker - there's no chance of a refund!

I'll post my impressions on firstly how it runs and secondly the gameplay itself after I've played it for a while. I'm looking forward to roaming around a historical representation of my birthplace

Totally believable. It's a well known fact in London we cover up 10 feet deep holes filled with sponge with carts full of hay that have no floor.

First impressions on how the game runs (which was a worry after AC: Unity) are very good.

I have it running in 4K with every graphical option maxed out including the FPS sapping Nvidia options like PCSS Ultra and HBAO+ Ultra and it's running smooth as silk. No crashes or problems so far.

And I tell you what this game has some of the best character models I've seen yet... Very, very impressive.

Here's a screenshot I just took. The game is just as impressive as this all the way through graphically. Still too early to comment on the gameplay yet, I'm still working my way through the beginning, but so far so good.
