Finally broke 1:54 in style today with a 1:53:320. My setup is bl00dy loose though and it's really easy to lose control unless I granny into the corners and feather the throttle (at the most) in mid turn.

Nice Duke! I cannot get anywhere near 1:50, but I did manage to knock half a second off my pb. That is on the absolute limit with that setup that Strokes provided.

Gonna have to tip my hat on this one and concede! :)

I think the next update is on the 17th, looking forward to what that brings us :icon_cool:

It will be the ability to race limited AI on some tracks.

I've already raced AI ingame (only one car works on one track) and their exceptionally difficult to get past even at 50% aggression.

...mind you I wasn't familiar with the track or the car.

No, I can't remember the name of the track but it's small with plenty of turns in it, maybe Magione or SPA?

I was racing the Ferrari 312T with one other AI car because any more than one means all of them sit at the start position only for the one working AI car to loop around the track and get stuck next to them.

Oh right, so was that in an earlier build or something, I mean can you or I do that now?

Remove the following lines from earlyaccess.js:

Oh, ok I did it a completely different way! I manually added special events in the folder using an existing .ini as a template.

However you do it though, it sure is a lot of fun!

Manged to break 1:53 today as well and posted a 1:52:868 with time left on the track. I think I can get down into the low 1:52's on this setup but once the car gets lighter as fuel burns off, I'm not sure if I can keep it on the track.

I've sacrificed downforce a bit and made the car a bit more tail happy to gain corner exit speed and top speed. I've also changed the gearing just a bit to give me as the engine sounds help me monitor corner entry a bit better.

Setup as follows:
  • Final Gear Ratio: 10//34
  • Tire Pressure: LF/RF @ 24 PSI
  • Front Spoiler: 0
  • Rear Wing: 5 deg

Ok, I'll give those settings a go later, did you leave toe/camber etc. as standard or use Strokes settings?

Managed a 1:51:892 today on a completely new setup. It was bothering me that the rear end was too loose and that I had to rev the shit out of the car to get through corners. It really amplified any little mistake and was just too impossible to drive.

I've changed up the gear ratio a bit and actually adjusted aero up to 1 on the front splitter, the logic being I don't need aero on the front for top speed, I need a bit less aero on the rear. It also seems to give better turn in and mid turn traction so it's far easier to control overall.

Just about broke 1:51:000 with a 1:51:016 just minutes ago.

Adding one more PSI and losing 1 degree rear spoiler seemed to help my top speed immensely.

Taking more aero off the rear was really what helped, I think now I'm running around 5.

Very nice! That's a massive improvement in motorsport terms, bet that felt good ;)

I won't be getting anywhere near you and strokes on this one :)
