Hi all, ive been kidnapped by "fromTheNavy" and been told i cannot leave. EVER!!
So here i am saying my hello, and stating my interest the the BSS league that you got runnning.
Ive been trying to find a schedule for the season and the tracks that you plan on running but failed to find one. I know that you race on friday evening/night which suits me fine, but im unaware of the start times.

So yehh just letting you know that im interested in joining.

I'd like to bring the RUF Track with me as i see there is only one other driver runnning it! plus its the car ive always used :)

But yehh if you could point me in the right direction as to what i need to do or read up on (racing etiquettes n shizz) if needed.

Thanks,
Ganja.
Welcome. This is the correct thread. I would encourage you to head over to the introductions forum to introduce yourself. If Davey will allow you.

Our schedule closely follows the iRacing Blancpain Series' schedule, here: http://members.iracing.com/membersite/member/SeriesSchedule.do?season=1497 If there exceptions, we'll note them here, but for now assume it's the same.

This blog post here will have the rules and how it works:

Yes, it obviously was not a malicious move by you. The only reason I brought up the difference in damage is because your car was fine and Davey's was totalled, regardless of how accurate the damage model is. If both cars were fine then this would not even be perceived as an incident.

I think it mainly depends on you whether you felt if a drive-through was acceptable. If you say that you might have drifted slightly off the apex but also say that Davey pinched you too much then we can view it after the race and decide then. Unless of course if Davey doesn't want you to have a drive-through, as was the case.

And I agree, I think that incident with you and me was fully my fault so I would happily have taken a drive-through if you wanted because it cost you your spot.

We should limit drive-throughs to advantageous outcomes only though. If two cars get a 0x in a corner but no harm is done then there would be no point in a penalty for one of them, even though there was some contact.

Edit: a better word for the above is probably disadvantageous; where one car gets away from an incident better than another.
We're actually going to break this out into its own topic and come to a decision as a League. In drawing up a flowchart I learned almost instantly that this is actually a bit more complex than I thought.

Blancpain has it easy because they have a Team review the incidents and decide in real-time. We don't have this luxury so we'll need to define outlines that work on track and police the remainder post race.

At the end of the day though it's really about striking a balance between clean racing and driver responsibility while retaining close competition.

Welcome Ganja, glad you could join us!

We're certainly pleased to have you and if you're a friend of Davey's I'm sure we can look past that :)

The Ruf is certainly welcome but I'd remiss if I didn't state we'll likely drop it next Season unless by some miracle iRacing allows for more than 4 different manufacturers in a session. As it stands it appears as if next season will consist of the BMW, McLaren, Audi and SLS.

...for now though it certainly wouldn't hurt to see another one on track.

First off, you'll want to apply to our League here: http://members.iracing.com/membersite/member/LeagueView.do?league=1584

You'll also want to create a thread in our Introduction Forum just telling us a little about yourself (as much or as little as you want).

Welcome to B2O and I look forward to seeing you on track.

Ken that incident between You and I was just a racing deal, I wasn't upset about it because I knew it was a damage model problem more than a racing etiquette issue :) There's no way in real life that my car would have been totaled but can't say the same in the sim. Looking back I could have given you more room but it's more fun to say that you dive bombed me knowing that everyone would believe that ;) Kidding aside I can't blame you at all for that incident starts are crucial and I'm just glad I was able to get out of the way without causing more harm.

And welcome Ganjaman! Glad to see you signed up for the league man, as Duke said feel free to create a Intro thread in Gaming Lounge!

Agree with this but since we don't have anyone as a "Marshall" in race to take a look real time this would could be costly if a penalty was not warranted correctly.

I think we should use that system for obvious incidents with both drivers agreeing to what happened but for incidents that are unclear of who's at fault it should be reviewed after the race and a penalty issued post race such as points deduction, eol penatly etc or whatever you guys think is most fitting.
