Ok thanks man, anything I should know about re: the server?

I've played a few hours now and although I'm still running around with sticks and stones is anything disabled or enhanced on the server? Thanks Dude.

Also, I hope not running battleye doesn't mean I'm going to be playing with a bunch of cheaters?

The Server Browser in CE is shit as it seems to prefer listing official servers before private servers. Even favoring the server doesn't mean it will always stay at the top of the browse upon refresh.

Just search for "Band" and then when it comes up (which sometimes takes forever) favorite it.

We'd only have to worry about Battleye in PVP but if we see someone fucking around we'll just ban them.

As for the Server details I've put everything relevant in the first post so nobody has to search for it.

I'll admin you guys up the next time we're on together.

I found the server and was able to connect to it (all the boxes top left unticked and Combat Mode to all). Managed to create my character and P joined as well. Shortly after that P(?) made the server crash, because he probably launched the game with BattleEye enabled. The server doesn't seem to be coming back online anymore.

Hey Wappy and P when you login today can you please rebind to your bedrolls first thing? I had to move yours Wappy and I'm not sure what's going to happen now that I've submitted a support ticket about the constant crashing?

I've been on and stocked up the chests, and cooked a load of food which is stored away too

I logged in last night after streaming and played for a bit just to see how the server was performing which it wasn't as usual. It was down when I first tried to connect and crashed twice when I was in.

I spent this time gathering resources, building up the walls and putting a roof over our heads. I also contacted them and stated the server was crashing from the time it was setup both before and after I'd adjusted the config file to exactly what we were using previously.

Apparently they made some changes to the server to address the issue.

Also, you'll notice the shelter is now full of windows. I did this because whenever the server restarted with me outside I'd almost always spawn with 2 hyenas and 1 spider agroing on me or about to. Now instead of standing your ground you can run into the shelter and kill them from inside rather than die due to a poor spawn.

You can use the windows or lure them to an open door and kill them from the comfort of the shelter

There seems to be a fair amount of changes since we last played including aggression of wild animals. It's just too bad the lag (or whatever it is) is still present because the spiders in particular still snap to positions rather than fluidly move to them. This makes it exceptionally difficult to kill them at range with arrows.

I haven't seen anything come at me half way buried in the ground yet though so that's a plus.

I was on a bit last night and the server seemed stable the entire time.

I am curious about the daytime/nightime transitions though and wonder if you guys think we should extend the daytime a bit to make it last longer? I think the night is pretty much perfect but daytime being as short as it is could make it difficult for day excursions as we get further north on the map.

P, I also organized the chests a bit better so you'll notice building supplies in the corner (where they were previously). I created a chest by the bbq for food stores and the 3 chests in the corner are for sticks (for arrows) and all the odds and sods shit.

Cool man, yeah longer days sound perfect to me actually. Glad the server is more stable, now we need to get a few of us on there leveling up ready for the big trip up North

I can play and stream Saturday prior to my 2 PM EST time slot of single-player Saturdays.

I wanna push for the turtles head this week and setup base camp there as a staging area for pushing north to Shangri la (the exclamation point waters I showed you on the map). This was the best and safest means of getting north so I suggest we rinse and repeat the process.

They are also perfectly spaced jump points so if you die you don't have to go back too far to rearm. It's much simpler as well for a hunting party to come get you in the event of your death as well.

Turtles head has a lot of iron and coal deposits close by so it's a great place to build up your weapon stash and mid level enemies to rank up on.

The spiders are plentiful here though as are the crocs and there are 2 big papa's roaming around the iron deposits so you need to exercise a bit of caution.

I actually don't see us hitting the new northern lands for a few weeks at our current rate unless we get enough people on Saturday together to setup rudimentary base at turtles head and rudimentary base at Shangri la.

We need these as jump points as we just won't last the journey north at our level and with our crap weapons and armor. Shangri la is a tough area to survive in even when kitted properly and we've all died there numerous times.

The further north you get the harder the enemies and more of them are around.

It would be good if we had an image of the map to post on here and we could edit it to post where we all are and where we are headed, is that a thing? I dunno.

I'm actually going to chronicle the journey north starting with a video this Saturday prior to the Saturday afternoon stream.

I'll mark on the map our journey as well as some highlights (and low lights) of our struggles to get there.

This Saturdays recording session will be the quick journey from Spawn to Stick Shangri la and include some random nonsense from our antics.

I can easily grab a screenshot from it and post our intended route and current location as we make our way North.

If the 3 of us are on it and focused I think we can hit turtle head this Saturday but we'll need to be careful given our weapon status. I'll draw agro with arrows and as they draw closer you and Wappy can finish them off with melee. If we stick to this type of plan it's our best chance of getting there without dying.

We won't be looting at all. We'll all carry a waterskin, food and figure out the best way to get building supplies up there to setup a foundation and 1 crate. I'll also carry as many arrows as possible as we'll see mid papa's, spiders, hyenas and a few crocs.

This route is actually the safest I know of.

The reason I want to push there so quickly is it's a good spot that is isolated and safe enough to build while remaining mostly out of harms way. Finding a fight is literally meters away so it's good for leveling and also has a lot of ironstone so we can start forging iron weaponry and armor.

I got killed and am back at the beginning area (I didn't check the bedroll... whoops) so need to make my way over there again butt naked. Again.

Almost at level 10 now. It's a great game and I like how we can all contribute even if we can't always be on at the same time. Great for our community as we all come from such varied timezones

This is what I like most about it, the shared resources and helping each other out. This is what DayZ Mod was like and it was one of the best Coop Games because of it.
