the AMG does have brake bias adjustment in the car, just remind each driver to set it before they leave the pits or it will be a nasty surprise after the kink :)

The AMG has in cockpit brake bias adjustment doesn't it? That was my teams plan, to set it at a compromise in the middle and just adjust for each driver as they get in the car. I prefer front bias like you, one of our drivers prefers rear. If it doesn't actually have in cockpit adjustment, we're in trouble
Yes, GT3 absolutely has on-board adjustments to Traction Control, ABS, and brake-bias so that each driver can change the balance to the race car to suit their style.

Just make sure to keep note on each individual's settings, and make sure when doing a driver change to remind the driver getting in to set up their settings before they go onto the track!!

Oh I know that, just thought I'd share input :). I'm not an alien by far so driving with waggling tail is beyond my level currently :p.

Schedule remains the same from stint to stint but I have added 15 minutes to all times because iRacing changed the warmup from 15 to 30 minutes.

Good morning, guys! Happy race day!

Just wanted to write out some last minute reminders:

  • Session Start: 13:00GMT, 8:00a ET/5:00a PT
  • Registration Opens 30 minutes before the session start time.
  • All other team members; DO NOT JOIN the team until after the session starts.
    • When the session is up, team sessions are joined by going through the "TEAM" tab and selecting "TEAM SESSIONS".
    • Joining as a spotter may effect the split that we get into as well, so even if you just want to spectate, please don't join until the session is up!
  • Please be in TS AND in session at least one stint (one hour) before your scheduled stint.
    • Both "RCO" TS channels are locked. Please stay out of these channels unless you are in the car or spotting. You don't HAVE to use these channels, but it is there for those who want to use it.
    • THE SCHEDULE IS FLUID! Things are subject to change, and even if everything is going to schedule, it is beneficial to be in teamspeak early and not just show up and jump straight into the car.
    • We'll be collecting a 'notebook' on the habits of as many drivers as we can. That information could be useful when negotiating traffic.
  • Watch your pit stops!
    • Anyone in the session, but not in the car, can act as a crew chief.
    • Crew Chiefs have access to all the F-boxes including
      • Tyres/Tyre Info
      • Fuel
      • Lap Timing/Relatives
      • Radio
    • As soon as a pit stop is complete, someone outside the car should set up the next pit-stop. That way all the driver needs to worry about is driving.
      • Every pit stop is a planned 4 tyre change, 120l of fuel, and a tearoff.
      • Some drivers may be running different tyre pressures. This needs to be communicated before the pit-stop, and reverted back to their original KPA before the car is given to another driver.
    • When doing a driver change...
      • NEVER pull a driver out of the car. Always allow each driver to get out of the car on their own before the next driver gets in. Attempting to remove a driver may result in a glitched pit stop.
      • CHECK YOUR SETTINGS! Every driver may be running different brake-bias/TC/ABS settings. The pit stop is over 60 seconds long, so when you get in the car don't just assume everything is how it should be. Always check your in-car settings and make sure they are to your liking.
    • Watch out for DP's pitting out. They will be struggling on cold tires and GT3's may be faster than them all the way through the infield.
  • Please, DO NOT MAKE OTHER DRIVERS THE 'BAD GUYS'!
    • It is easy to do, especially with the DP's because they will be the cars passing us the most, and the closing distance is obviously the greatest. HOWEVER, this is multi-class racing. This is part of the experience.
    • Remember, that all people in the session are amateur sim-racers, spending their weekend driving their desk, just the same as you and me. They're being asked to make split second decisions, and they're human, so not all their decisions will be correct. Some will be better than others, and we will try to make a note of the overly-aggressive and incredibly dim ones, but if you automatically think all drivers who ever make a mistake the 'bad guys', and if you get upset with every pass attempt they make, you're not going to focus on your race, or enjoy your time on the race track.
  • Try to maintain a positive attitude for the group!
    • I see you rolling your eyes, Ken! :)
    • Things aren't always going to go our way. We're probably going to get blocked, dive-bombed, cut-off, and caught out three-wide. We may get punted, spin, or suffer damage. It happens. This is endurance racing.
    • We have to run big picture, and we can't loose sight of the end-goal, finishing the 24 hours of Daytona. At Nurburgring we had a disconnect and a blown engine, and we still rallied to 4th. We got top-5's at Watkins Glen despite one team getting wrecked on a class-less rejoin, and another team running out of fuel (no comments necessary). We have to keep our heads up, and we can't let little mistakes get to us, or whoever is in the car. This is a team effort and we have to work together to keep everyone's head up!
    • This race is being streamed via Ken, Phillip?, and myself, so please do your best to positively represent yourself, each other, and of course the Band of Others community!
      • Please refrain from 'bashing' other teams/drivers in the race. There is a difference between noting someone's poor race craft, or idiotic lapse in judgement, but we don't need to linger on calling them diminutive names or expletives every time we encounter them.
        • Save that stuff for each other! ;)
We're all here to have fun, and enjoy it, and I personally am looking forward to spending the next 25 hours of my with all you! There really is no place I'd rather be, and I hope some of you feel the same!:rolleyes::confused::p:D

How are things going for you guys? Finished up my first stint, car is mostly intact. Mission success as far as I'm concerned.

Sorry for not being there at the end, guys. What a job by everyone! By far the cleanest race I think we've ever done! I can only recall one 4x in 24 hours.

Thanks Noel for getting us into this race. A lot of us were batting outside of our league, but competeing at this level just for a top-10 was incredible.

Sorry for my last stint, seems like it took just 32 laps to undo all that we'd saved for.. Another year, another fuel debacle... enjoyed it though! Hope you all have a relaxing rest of your weekend, if you have any left.

Great job guys!!!!! We finished in 16th. Frankly, in our split, I thought that was some of the most aggressive driving I have seen in any of the endurance races I have been in :( Perhaps it was the split we were in. I think there were quite a few oval racers in our split. And with at least five server crashes in our split, I have to wonder what to heck is going on at iRacing. Hopefully they will get it worked out before the next endurance race.

Thanks to Bedo and David for the great spotting for me! Not sure what happened to the iRacing spotter in the later stints, but couldn't have survived without you guys!!!

Nice job guys! We finished 7th Netjun, not 6th :p, but it was very close towards the end.

The fuel was mostly fine Marc, I thought I could go flat out in the last stint but there was an extra 5 minutes at the end of the race (pace lap/gridding/server issues) that I didn't account for so I had to save a lap or so. We didn't have anything to lose so towards the end we decided to go flat out again to chase 6th, and pitting if I had to. I think the leader overtook us on the last lap but we missed the white flag so I went into the pits with the intention of getting a splash of fuel for another lap instead of just finishing :).

The traffic was mostly alright in the 2nd split, none of them really stood out for aggressiveness, but I've heard the 1st split was also pretty aggressive in general.

Awesome job guys. I was able to watch you and my team finish at 5:30 AM, as our race times were slightly offset. Was fun and exciting!

We finished 21st in our split, but frankly we had top 5 pace. Just had some really unlucky breaks two separate times where we got taken out by out of control cars. We still finished though, and that was the goal. Our car looked like it had been through a demolition derby, but damn it we finished.

As far as the servers, according to iRacing, the servers were fine, they never were overloaded. The issue was caused by backbone routing changes which caused connectivity issues all across the internet, not just to iRacing and not just the race servers. It's frustrating there is no question about that...but at this point I'm just sort of in the "Shrug, the internet can suck sometimes" mode of thinking. I still had an absolute blast driving my stints (and yes, I did get disconnected once).

Split 3 was a 'get out of my way' fest apparently. I know DP'S are faster, and there a few who had patience and respected the GT3's line. But most of them had no respect and barged their way through. One example was the Apex Racling NASCAR green team, dived on the left hand kink when we were commited and told us of for driving our normal line, they wrecked out of the race doing the exact same thing 10 laps later, just the GT3 they came across this time wasn't so alert.
So many times they used themselves as missiles from over 100m behind to try and get in a closing gap barely big enough for a Mini. Le Mans split 3 was an absolute dream compared to this, today was a very disrespectful bunch of drivers.

However well done to everyone for surviving the 24 hours of destruction derby... I mean Daytona :p hopefully Sebring has better drivers :)
