Looks like it deploying now. Do we still not know if we're doing Ferrari or Ford?
Just waiting for them to get released first Bedo then whoever is buying both off the bat will be able to give some feedback.

@Zac_Sonic the HPD has had some aero changes so not sure if the current set is still viable. I will give it a go in test drive now as I believe that has the patch applied.

i have some photoshop experience. i get your point but honestly i would much rather drive my prefered car with a mediocre paint than drive a race, so important to me, in my non prefered car. as for the setup, if each team would just work on their own car i don't think it'd be a problem, the set isn't going to be perfect anyway.

this just how i feel. maybe we will settle on 1 car i don't know. i just don't think it's the best way to limit the whole team to 1 car because of a paint.

(if i were to be the only one who wants to drive a different car then i can understand :p )
You can say that Sam because you're not the one who has to invest 15+ hours on each livery leading up to the event. I'm already well over 15 hours into the HPD and still have between 2 - 3 hours before it's buttoned up.

I have a full time day job and cannot invest 30+ hours in less than a week to skin 2 cars to satisfy everyone.

I'm sorry but if you want to drive another car beyond what's chosen it won't be for B2O sadly.

...as the site owner and Team Sponsor I WILL NEVER put out a livery I think is mediocre, the idea itself is ludicrous. We have an Endurance theme we've been running for near 2 years now so mucking about at the 11th hour isn't going to sit well with me.

I hate to be so blunt about it but what I hate more is when people take for granted my free time in endless.

Again my apologies for being so blunt but I've not slept and not had coffee yet.

The only reason I'm really posting this is to reiterate what Zac has already stated numerous times, there is simply not enough time to do all the liveries for this event.

My apologies to those who think they have to "settle" to drive for us, if I could do more you know I would.

did you even read what i said? i didn't blame you or told you to do more. i offered to make a mediocre one myself if others wanted to drive a different car. besides i think i was very clear when i made a proposal and gave my my preference (opinion). i didn't demand anything nor do i expect too much.

i uploaded my best car as example if it's not good enough or you just don't want it, just say so.
i just don't get why you say it like that.

btw, the download servers are back up

Yes Sam I read what you said and answered appropriately.

I know you can paint, we have a number of people here who can paint.

...but it's not going to help if I have to talk you through things to align them with how I feel they need to be.

I've been down this road before and don't have the luxury of time to do it any other way.

You're paint is wonderful but it won't be an Endurance Livery; we already have one we've been running for nearly 2 years.

yeah i'll be around in TS soon, probably as soon as the cars get on track. we could talk about it then.

and i didn't meant to drive my paint, i would (try to) recreate the B2O endurance livery. it was just an example of my PS experience.

edit: my voice is probably still a bit rusty i hope that isn't a problem :p

This is what is in the changelog for the iRacing update today:

HPD ARX-01c

– At Le Mans track configs, selection of the low Down Force aero package is now mandated and additional reductions in Down Force and drag are applied. A note to this effect has also been included in the Garage. As a result, the unmodified Low Downforce package is available again for suitable tracks outside of LeMans.

I think I'm going to put my nuts on the table and buy both cars. I was already planning on buying both, just at separate times.

@John Navara they have already dropped the Aston, Corvette, and Ford from the event. They're replacing the old ACO GT1 and GT2 cars with the new GTE Ferrari 488 and Ford GT. The new cars will be coming out tomorrow, and the GTE teams will be testing them to see which one Band of Others will be running at Le Mans.
Just getting into the iRacing scene I get confused with all the GT classifications. I always assumed that the Ford was GTLM and the Ferrari was GTD as was the case at Daytona and Sebring. Maybe that has something to do with the WeatherTech series and not worldwide.

Yes. The current IMSA rules combined Grand-Am and the failing American Le Mans Series (both owned by NASCAR) into one series, that somewhat tries to replicate enough of the Le Mans format to qualify for a position on the grid. In IMSA, GTLM matches Le Mans' "GTE" category, while the slower "GTD" aligns with the FIA "GT3" category, to try to capitalize on GT3's global popularity, at the moment. Other countries have similar series like the regional European Le Mans Series, Asian Le Mans Series, as well as the FIA World Endurance Championship. These series all come together to allow the teams to run their cars at events outside of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The actual 24 Hours of Le Mans is organized by the "ACO" - "Automobile Club de l'Ouest". Think to how Indianapolis had a race, and USAC, Champ Car, and now Indycar have created a championship to go along with that race.

I only got to do one lap in the 488 before heading to work, but it was pretty great. Sounded great, drove great. Requires some finesse on the brakes, but with the lateral and primary TC you can absolutely slam it out of corners. Quite a bit of down force for a GT car. The baseline setup was winged out to hell, so I didn't get a representative top speed on the straights. I'm sure someone will come along and post one.
