Have we agreed on a set? I'm getting a little stressed, each set requires different compromises and sometimes it takes me a multitude of laps to figure out where those compromises are, where I can push it and where I have to back off. I will try to take some time off this afternoon and run some laps by myself to test if we have a final set.
I wish it could have been easier, but unfortunately this race is going to benefit drivers who adapt quickly. When you're dealing with a car this new, it will be incredibly tough to gain confidence. I would recommend treating your first stint in the car tomorrow as a test (hopefully not your first test, obviously); try not to push too hard, don't get caught up "chasing the rabbit, just feel out how the car reacts over a full stint, and slowly gain confidence over the course of the race, and be sure to pass on your observations to the rest of the team.

The last two nights have been a mixture of confusion and frustration, but I want to thank each and every one of the GTE drivers for being there, sharing their input in to the setup, and to Denis, Bedo, Philip and Noël for providing the base setups. It felt like this was going to be one of B2O's most prepared events but, not to anyone's fault here, we've actually fallen the farthest behind, and yet you guys are still making the most of it!

i just tried to do an extra lap with fuel saving. i drove 1,5 lap with 11 fuel map and 0,5 lap with 5 and even with that i was out of fuel well before i crossed the green cones. so in order to do that extra lap you'd have to drive about 2 laps with fuel map 11 and with that you'd lose about 7 sec per lap. i don't think it's possible to do that extra lap without losing massive time. maybe i just used alot of fuel but i don't think saving is worth it.

did anyone else try this?
Did that extra lap get you 15 or 16 laps? Yesterday I was able to do 15 laps flat-out with about 1 L left (using 5.98 L per lap). I'll have a fuel schedule up shortly to see the difference between doing 14/15 laps.

Running fuel map 11 isn't viable, I think in iRacing it's still much faster to just coast and brake later. I find it hard to understand how you would use so much more fuel though :O.

I think we can have a nice schedule going if we choose to change tyres at the same time as driver swapping. Ideally we'd have some triple stints in there then to be competitive. Keep in mind that if you're on a triple stint and you feel the tires won't last 3 stints, we will change tyres and thus the next driver in the car will start with 1-stint-old tyres.

@Duke Nice job on the paint! Thanks for all the hard work, it's looking awesome.

is team 1 settled on the ken set v2?
Yesterday I did a stint with some slight modifications. This is the set most of us liked on Wednesday (set on your face), then Denis dropped the ARBs and made some other changes. I took that and did the following:
- One or two clicks down on the front ARB
- One click down on the rear ARB
- Diff pre-load at 50 Nm
- Tyre pressures (kPa): 127 front; 124 rear (or close to it)

It felt very stable to me and was able to do an average of about 3:50.7. It seemed to be getting faster at the end of the stint on light fuel. The v2.2 changes weren't massive so I think we narrowed our set preferences down quite nicely. @PancakesYUMMY what do you think of it?

I am downloading and using the above set now. Anyone planning on testing today? I am around most of the day.

GREAT JOB on the paint Ken!!!

To be honest, this is the highest stress level I've ever encountered leading up to an event like this.

I've felt it and I know some of you have felt it.

I just want to say for the record that you all have handled it with extreme professionalism and unparalleled grace. We've always had a "different" Team dynamic but this time around SUPPORT is what I've seen most even in this difficult time.

It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege turning laps with you all and as bumpy as the road has been to this point, I look forward to the next and the next and the next.

It may say "Band of Others" on the paints but that is a name only. It is each and every one of you who breath life into the name as without you there would be no B2O.

Thank you all for being a part of something truly great, the memories past and the memories yet to come.

Yours very respectfully,

Ken

For our pleb team, I would go with the setup that is most comfortable to our most uncomfortable driver. Also we're looking to just do clean laps, not fast ones. Even if we're severely off pace, we can finish top ten with clean runs. I would recommend not gambling with any setup optimizations of speed that could compromise a clean run.

I've uploaded estimate fuel schedules for GTE team 1 and 2.

The pit stop durations are set up assuming double stinting of tyres, so this might not be fully accurate from stint to stint.

For team 1, I've set our fuel-saving target to 24 stops, any less and we would have to do a couple of 16-lappers with an average of 3:52.0 - 3:52.5. On the contrary, team 2 has an average lap time of 3:55.0 and with that they can do 23 stops, each 15-lap stints. If you guys go significantly faster than that though you will complete the 24 stints before the end of the race.

Let me know if these numbers need changing.

@Zac_Sonic Is it going to be a lot of trouble to format the new schedules to fancy-mode? Let me know if I can help.
EDIT: I see you're already working on it :p

What should they be set to? I ran my best lap with Nate's recent set. I just changed BB to 50.1%. That is adjustable during race correct?

John
BB is adjustable during the race.
team 1 has decided on running high friction ones, so i was just surprised when i saw our setup with medium ones. i don't know what team 2 is running.

so I am having a little issue with Noels latest race setup....it feels backend happy for me and not as stable through the prosche curves thus far I ran Bedo's latest setup and that for me feels like the winner and I can comfortably run 3.51's in it

Noel I upload Motec screenshot, you can see exactly how much fuel and laps,go back 1 page or 2.Will try that set today, should be good If you go in same direction what I was thinking, that was better at the end so I think It will be ok.So I need to change to hard brake pads only?
Question about paint-Do I need to put file in my paint folder or is enough just do that in TP,just select that for my team paint?
Noel my stints are timed perfectly, tnx :)
