I created a link for Zac in the OP to dl his paint. I can't get his to download (located in the same spot on the server) no matter what I try (it 404's)

Duke (In case you didn't see this). I still can't figure it out. Can you? If not I'll just zip them and send them off as needed.

Download works on my end. Tested on Mobile and PC.

Edit: failed on chrome and Iexploder

Edit 2: you sure you've got the right filename? I ended up with 2 copies of the Holden Base skin.

Are you trying Zac's skin? Or both? The Holden base works fine, which is even weirder since I updated that tga and didn't change the file / url. The filename should be exact... the directories are the same. Another confusing point.

You sure the file is on the server? I've tried lowercase and typing it out in different ways but no luck.

Yes. In filezilla you can copy the file URL to clipboard... this is the URL that gets copied: ftp.bandofothersgaming.com/misc/Paints/V8SC/Marc_HoldenV8.tga

Pretty sure you need to change the ftp. to www. (http://) or else you'd just be trying to connect to the FTP... but I'm not the best with FTP.

That is your problem as Filezilla does not copy the url properly to the clipboard, it always ads root server folder addresses which are not used.

You need to remove the parts of the url that are not displayed in a web browser such as home/public or whatever it posts there.

The download link should be simply bandofothersgaming.com/files/...

Post the exact address you're trying to use and I'll work it out for you.

The URL should be what I posted above (bandofothersgaming.com/misc/Paints/V8SC/Marc_HoldenV8.tga) But I'm not sure why that 404's. Copy and pasting a link that is already set up, like the Holden Base and changing the file name to Marc's doesn't work either (they're in the exact same directory)

If you are on the FTP that is the folders you'd navigate to get into to find it. I just went and doublechecked that it was there, and it is.

Well I can see you're missing /files in the address for one.

The following works just fine for me:

http://bandofothersgaming.com/files/misc/Paints/V8SC/Marc_HoldenV8.tga

http://bandofothersgaming.com/files/misc/Paints/V8SC/Marc_HoldenV8.tga

If you're getting a 404 error it means your url is wrong, it's not anything the site is doing.

I know the 404 is my fault, just was pointing out that that was what my faulty link does. Thanks though Duke, I'm not sure what I had wrong but I have fixed the OP and shouldn't have a problem going forward adding more paints. Hopefully.

You were just missing /files in your url's, there is no misc folder that close to the root.

The only root folders on the server are for the Blog. All Forum files are contained in forum folder and all downloads are contained in files folder.

No I did it so we were flooding the race with like half the same paint. I added the white so a team could run together and be a little different. Not for everyone to change to white.

I went with the black paint because I figured Ken wouldn't change. How the other 3 teams want to split up is yet to be decided..

Just for the record, nobody is being forced to switch to anything, that was never my intent.

The only reason I mentioned running another skin is because it was brought up that it may look lopsided with the half the grid running the same Band of Others scheme.

As it stands right now we've got the largest Team there so we're certainly going to stand out lol.

I think most of us agree that each team should field a different pain just at least appear different. I'm just fine with that and Daunt said that was his intent behind the white paint and Zac seems to agree too.

I like the idea of minor variations based on teams, but I don't know how much more I'd change. I think the all white one is as much of a change as I'd like to do, maybe too much... I did a test of a mostly orange paint and it looked bad, despite that I thought it would be amazing.
