B2O S3R12 Blancpain League Race: Friday night Sept 2, 2016

It's the final round for this season's B2O Blancpain league race, coming down to the wire in Italy at Monza. The track has been a staple for the past few seasons for the Blancpain series, featuring many different race winners through the past years.

Low downforce and heavy braking are the doctor's orders here; cars lacking top end speed will be passed quite easily and often in the many straight sections of Monza. Outbraking opponents alongside you will come in handy as well. Tires you'd think would last decently long here but thanks to heavy braking wear, expect worrisome drop offs that will affect the all-important corner exit speed, especially out of the final chicane.

Open Qualify Session starts at 7:30 PM EST spanning 1 hour. Participants are required to put down a reasonable time (within 3 seconds of the leader) to qualify for the Q-race. If any less than 3 laps are put down, or the driver is not within 3 seconds of the leader, he/she will be put at the back of the grid.

Qualify Race
starts at 8:30 PM EST spanning 40 minutes of practice and finishing off with a 20 minute, inverse grid, Qualify Race, gridded per the open qualify session prior.

Main Race starts at approx 9:45 PM EST with 10 minutes warmup and a 50 minute Race.

Grid positions carry over from Qualify Race Results.

A mandatory Pit Stop is required within a narrow 5 minute Pit Window at the 25 - 30 minute mark to take on tires only.

BTW great job posting these Kyle, much appreciated!
No problem. I'll make the next few in advance but you will have to post them. Well I'm missing week 13 (awesome how that worked out) and week 1. So I'll make week 1 which is Nurburgring GP.

Thanks Kyle, I have no idea how I managed 3rd on the Season; cheque is in the mail.

I reviewed the incident with uwee in the Qualify Race and just can't wrap my head around what happened. He was going into the chicane at nearly double the speed of everyone around him, caught grass and drove through 3 cars.

He was on the brakes within the braking zone I believe but then for some reason appeared to let off and aim for the grass. Originally I thought maybe his rear end stepped out under heavy braking as there appeared to be a lot of marbles on the track around there but it appeared to be under control.

At this point he was doing about 138 km/h but when he hit the grass his speed increased to 143 km/h which makes no sense to me either.

Uwee can you please comment on what happened because I believe you disconnected from TS after this happened and there were comments as to whether or not this was deliberate.

I don't believe it was deliberate but you really should give us some insight into what happened as you took 3 cars out of the running.

Thanks.

It looked deliberate from my cockpit because of the high speed of the impact. But after watching the replay I noticed that he was out of control when bouncing over the massive curbs which sent him our way I think.

That's not actually the part in question.

It's the braking zone and the speed going into the chicane I'd like to hear from Uwee about. Its what lead to the entire incident and bears some explanation.

I contacted Uwee and he stated he missed his braking point by a lot and just tried to split the middle and not take anyone out.

He feels bad about it which I totally understand as it sux affecting others races; I know, I've done it many times.

Don't let it get you down Uwee, it's racing and it's going to happen sooner or later.
