Cool , the current baselines don't seem bad at all. I may not make it this evening though, I am still trying to recover from exerting myself yesterday. I will show If I am rested enough. Apologies in advance if I cannot make it though.

Apologies for not running League tonight all, for some reason I've had no power most of the day and, by extension, no Internet.

Sorry all, but going to be away from league for about the next month. Lots of out of town commitments that will have me away on Fridays. (Niece first communion, going to Indianapolis for qualifying weekend, H.S. graduation weekend for another niece and nephew and finally some vacation time away with the family.) See you all again sometime in mid June.

Does everyone participating this Friday May 19, have Hockenheim or should we run Zandvoort or some other?

The AI Enabled Track Google Doc (leave "[your name]" as a comment on a track if you own it) only has 4 people owning Hockenheim. I know @Nejtun doesn't have it. There was some talk about Phillip Island... you know, after 24 hours of the greatest track on earth, we might as well offset it with 4 hours of utter garbage...

I saw @Nejtun doesn't have Hockenheim but I've not seen him in League for a while now so I'd rather run it if possible. Hopefully bumping this topic weekly will catch everyone's attention so we can decide on track selection earlier in the week.

The reason I mentioned Zandvoort is because it's in the schedule and an AI enabled track on all configs. The only reason I've not edited the track list is I've never used Google Docs and have little to no idea what I'm doing with it.

Of the tracks I still need to cycle in (at some point) are Phillip Island, Mosport, Gilleez Vellenuevehhhhhhh, Barber, Motegi, Summit Point, Silverstone, Suzuka, Okayama, Red Bull Ring, Oulton, Lime Rock, Zolder and Donington.

I think.

I wasn't at league last week, as we we 24hr'ing, the week before there was no league, I may or may not have missed the week before (so I may have missed 1 which would count as " a while" lol)
As mentioned, I do not have hockenheim so if you do that i will likely be in your chat but not racing. If you do a track I have then I will probably be there for the first race but for sure not the second.

Do you have Zandvoort?

...and apologies for the "a while" statement, it wasn't meant to be a stab. It was made as I don't have you listed as scoring in any official League Session dating back to the end of March. That's Road Atlanta, Belle Isle, Nürburgring and Mount Panorama.

Again, it was not meant to be an offensive statement so apologies if you took it as such.

No offense taken, it just looked funny how you put it :)

Yes, I do have Zandvoort and Zolder (just noticed that neither of these are on the sheet)

However, please don't worry about including me in the popular track vote as with the late European start time for these I cannot guarantee I will be there as I have normally been up for around 14 hours by the time league starts!

Ya, the spreadsheet requires updating but I've no experience with Google Spreadsheets and am too concerned about mucking it up.

This week we'll be running the new 2023 Roster.

Please note, this may make some liveries temporarily unavailable as I'm still trying to work out the kinks in
irSidekick AiEdit.

We'll experiment with lowered Optimism settings attempting to nerf braking behaviour while encouraging AI lift and coast. In theory, this should slow the AI but to what degree, we'll all find out.

Assuming this works, we may be able to increase AI Relative Skill at the lower end of the Roster making these Drivers safer.

I did a test run with the AI that @Kenadian loaded in trading paints. I was using iRacing's Nurburgring Endurance Setup, which has less understeer than baseline. I just did 20 minutes Qualifying and 20 minutes race to see how the AI does. Some were quite fast with De Paw down in the 7.56s. Of the 20 AI plus myself, about 16 qualified, so not too bad. I started about in the middle of the grid and the first couple of turns was a disaster. I got spun and ended up at the back of the pack, which actually wasn't a bad deal. After lap 1 I was back up to 14 and finished 5th. Most of that due to AI issues. They do move over when they're going slow, so it is pretty easy to get around them. De Paw had an issue somewhere and finished 6th and Mies finished first and he wasn't particularly fast. Other than turns 1 and 2, I didn't see much craziness but then I was at the back for the first lap. All in all it seemed fine to me, most of the AI finished but obviously had issues along the way.

Thanks for the insight @Deb. I too noticed their lap times were all over the place, mostly quite slow.

For the first session tonight I'll bump the upper level of AI to 95% and see what happens.
