There are only 2 current V8 Supercars: the Mustang and the Holden, it doesn't matter which you practice in as they are both the same and the Sets are interchangeable between the two.

Please show your interest in this as soon as possible so we can do numbers and stints.
A full fuel tank on this car is around 25 Laps (just under an hour including the stop) so please bear that in mind when you are deciding how many stints you can do in a row.

Please also state which of the cars you have (or prefer) so we are not jumping into the "other" car at the last minute as the seating positions are slightly different and the dashboard is also different for each car.

I know both Marc and I have both, I have no preference over which car to drive but would like to know which one before hand.

I have already started turning laps for this and have adjusted the baseline setup a bit to make it more stable. This set is posted below and on Discord so feel free to try it , submit your own or make any changes that you like in the next week or so.

Please DO NOT show up two days before with a completely different setup as I am not going to be able to get into the Sim from 11th until around the 14th and don't really want any surprises!

We have had a pretty good showing for 2023 over the endurances so let's keep the momentum going for the last couple of the year!

FWIW, Commodore has the new paint, however it lacks the Spec Map. Mustang still has the 2019 livery. It would require a full repaint.

The Holden would be a way smarter choice then I think. @Deb you kinda drive a monster V8 for realsies! I bet you would love it! :D

I made some adjustments, just for stability sake, Maxed out the wing which costs about 15 hundreths on the Conrod straight, but gives great (for a supercar) traction out of most of the rest of the corners. I am also starting the stint with 1 on the front Arb and 3 on the rear and then going up a click on each a couple of laps in as the car starts to get a bit snappy at the front.

I am struggling a bit to get anymore speed out of the car so if anyone can help with this it would be much appreciated. Setup v2 attached!

Going by the setup notes I changed the roll centre (front and rear) to LOW and adjusted the ride heights to suit. otherwise the V3 is the same as the V2, I am still running hottest track with default usage at midday but going forward I may adjust the temp down a bit as it is barely spring in Australia at the moment with today having a high of 21 degrees centigrade.

I can do either.

I'm nearing the end of my project (I think) so should hopefully be back around soon.

Which car did you decide on so I can skin it?
We have been practising in the Holden, as that one was the most complete (and has a better seating position by far!)
Also , are you going to be available to join in on this one Ken?

All we have changed from the V3 set seemed to be the gearing last night, I forgot to name it , so i will place it here and in discord after i log into the sim in a few minutes!

No, I can't drive these things to save my life.

All I'm going to do is crash out, guaranteed.

I've nearly completed skinning the Holden. All I need to do is complete the specmap. Also made a change to the QR Code that some may appreciate.

Have you blacked-out these areas on the "car_spec" tga?

Edit: I missed one, there are actually 4. I think the two on the right bottom are the pit box. I think the large one is the number color. I'm not sure what the 4th tiny box is for.

Also also: There is a layer called "Parts that can have their Alpha Edited" Looks like that could be the reason the rear window is disappearing on you. Put this layer, as is, over top of the Spec-map and see if it fixes your issue.

Nah, none of the above ever occurred to me as I use the same full coverage metallic layer in all paints, none affecting glass to date.

I'll give this a go and see if it corrects the issue.

Odd it's only the rear window, nothing else is affected as far as I can tell. Maybe it's just done differently due to having variable data on it.

V8 Supercars, even at this time, was one of the few series that still ran sedans, which meant you wouldn't often NEED to deal with a rear-door glass. The series occasionally used the rear-window as a place for contingency decals, and obviously numbers and names. It was basically free real estate, without compromising the team's individual paint schemes. You don't need that window for visability, so some times it was covered in decals, sometimes teams would tint it, sometimes they'd completely black it out, and I swear I've seen a V8 Supercar that had the scheme over the rear-window, but I can't find it now.

Of course, now that Nissan, Holden, and Volvo are all gone, and it's the Mustang and Camaro show, another Sedan-racer series has officially bitten the dust.

P.S. 2022 V8 Supercars when, iRacing?? Should only be another 2-3 year wait.........

You were spot on @Skid_Marc_. I left the original specmap default as usual and simply covered it with my specmap color layer and details.

Completely missed the fact the rear windows are black, easy to miss as they're the only windows done this way. Having said that, they're also the only windows with variable data on them so it should have stood out, my bad.

Anyway, if you've enabled the livery on Trading Paints there is an update available.

Wooooooooo!! 7th place!! Well done to Davey and Marc for tearing through the Mountains to finish all 161 laps!
Thanks also Ken for fixing up the paint, the car looked good the whole way! I like the new colour for the QR code too, much more subtle. ( can you do it in black? :) )
