This looks like it is out of control... kind of disheartening.

It's not nearly as bad as it seems. So far out of close to 122 hours of gameplay, I've only run into maybe 3 or 4 questionable instances of hacking with one being completely obvious.

It's actually some of the best countermeasures I've seen to date.

...with the exception being spawn camping is still an issue on many servers.

I guess I got a different impression from the comments, which seemed to indicate that punkbuster was not catching a lot of these and that the community had to rely on players reporting instances to a large degree.

I've seen probably 5 people hacking in 90 hours. They're obvious and get banned quickly.

Oh ok, well that is not nearly as bad as some people were making it then. Glad to see that the @$$hat$ are getting banned!

The difficult thing here is; there are obvious cheaters and there are 'hidden' cheaters. Now, the obvious ones are there to ruin your game, like killing everyone with a push on the button. The 'hidden' ones are harder to track down as they are not obviously cheating but rather stay on the background not racking up scores. They're using the hacks more as an extra aid in the game. If think there are more of these type of cheaters than we think.

Other than that, i've only ran into one obvious hacker/cheater so far in 60 hours gametime.

That makes a lot of sense Wapwap, although the logic those people employ makes absolutely no sense to me. They are just cheating themselves in the end.
