I'm a way behind you guys but here is my 3rd attempt at this. Not doing too bad at the moment :) Really enjoying this game. Very relaxing.

Thats nice P! Quite a difference with when I asked you to stream your first attempt :D

I gave the map editor a try, wanted to make a somewhat realistic looking map. It'turned out ok for my first try at the editor I think, spent around 10-12 hours on the map. Love to hear your opinion on it, especially if it looks natural to you...

Really enjoying the game so far. Traffic becomes a real challenge when your industry zones are increasing.

This is my first attempt. I tend to use every single bit of space when I start building, then later on realize I shouldn't have done that. So i'm going to start running into some traffic troubles later on when the citizen number start rising. Oh yes, and i'm horrible at finding/designing traffic solutions.

Looking good wap! btw, that big round blue button on the left lets you buy an extra plot of land, looks like you can use the space... There also seem to be people living very close to the industry, I hope you have enough doctors in town, or hearses :D

I must say the game is a lot more fun then simcity. There's always room for improvement, but the increased size and additional road options are great fun to play around with, especially the pedestrian walkways are very useful!

I like this game allot, has lots of potential but as cities get bigger there seems to be some horrible traffic routing going on.

I got up to 60k people then ran into some serious traffic problems. Despite putting my bus stops, tube and rail stations in close proximity, putting out separate rail networks for hauling and the public I can't seem to get people to use it very much. They're obsessed with cars!

Also, I flooded my city with hydro electric dams. That was fun.

Looking good Shilka!
Really liking the layout of the river system, and to be honest it reminds me of Spintires river map... but that might just be my shrivelled grape making weird connections.

I'd certainly have a go but seeing i don't have the game i'll just stick to your regular streams :)

Thanks, that would be cool :) The map is doing reasonable so far. Out of the 18 people looking at the workshop item, 15 subscribed. Might have to work a bit on exposing it a bit more to the public.

On an ironic note, I found out that a former Maxis employee who worked on Simcity, Bryan Shannon, is now actually working on workshop content for Cities: Skylines. He's put up 2 great quality buildings on the workshop, you can find them here: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197961632157/myworkshopfiles/?appid=255710

Looks cool, so I suscribed and hope to see more of the quality stuff...

And as for other news, after surpqassing 250.000 copies sold on day 1 (this includes pre-orders), sales have now surpassed 500.000 copies. Not bad at all paradox!

Nice. Within my industrial zone the buildings are saying they don;t have enough people to ship to or something like that.

At the moment I haven't got any cargo trains etc. I haven't got any public transportation come to think of it. I've saved it until I can figure it out.

Nice job on the map Shilka! As always, a great eye for detail.

I always keep a commercial 'buffer zone' between my residential and industry zones. The buildings you see close to the industry are either commercial or office building. But I agree you should keep industry kind of separated from the other type of zones.

Speaking of industry; how does the specialization exactly work? (farming, forestry, etc). I try to fiddle around with it, but couldn't get it to work.

Looking very neat and organized P! How is your crime rate doing? I remember always getting criminals and bums from Peeville when we were playing SimCity.

Regarding the sales; they've said it's their best/quickest selling game so far. It looks like people have been waiting for this after the SimCity debacle.

I love fiddling around with the intersections. All the offramp, one way road and other options makes that you can design some nice junctions. Here's my latest creation;

I'm still messing about with the city I posted about earlier, seems there's a bug with the number of parks & rec and it killing the demand for commercial. They've reproduced it and gonna be patching it quite soon from what I read among some black screen, Mac user fixes and a couple others. I have this bug too. Also, I couldn't get my offices to level up that last little bit and early this morning read the cause - not enough bus stops. I put in more and offices started levelling up.

I'ma mess with my current city until it's patched, learning more about the game then I'll start a new one. Population sits close to 70 000 and I'm going to have some fun with the latest mod I just snagged. :)

Here's the city I've been working on, no real traffic issues, a nice mix of high/low density, I've been enjoy it. It's the first city I've made that hasn't been absolutely terrible!
