Coming Soon to iRacing: Pit Crew Animations

Will be coming to the NASCAR series first though.

We hope to make a video showing the animated pit crew in the next week. FYI, we started on pit crew animation with the NASCAR Monster Energy Series and we will go from there. Hopefully, with some relatively minor adjustments, we can add several other NASCAR Series fairly quickly and then move on to other series and forms of racing. The biggest part of the project was building the system, animator tools, characters, design, replays, etc. and working out all the issues including dozens of variables and scenarios. Getting the first series done is big. A game of inches making it look good. I wish ever pit wall was the same height. We are targeting next season build for the Monster Energy Series. For mainly performance/frame rate reasons, the animated pit crews will be of the player's car only at this point.

Those Pit Crew animations are awesome, really impressive to watch!

My guess is you'll only see your crew animated though and not everyone's otherwise the frames would take a massive dump when driving in or by the Pits with cars in there.

Wow, those animations look pretty good. I'm not that interested in them though, it doesn't add that much immersion for me as a driver. Unless you can run them over.
