DayZ becoming incrementally more expensive after steam sale

With DayZ slowely becoming more feature rich, developers are planning to rise the price for the game accordingly. Plans are now for the game, that currently costs €29.99 to become €34.99 after the steam sale, €43.99 at the end of 2015 and €49.99 when it reaches final in 2016.

If that's a good thing or not is up to your opinion, but personally I must admit I've never seen a price development like this for an early acces game before...

Current long time planning for development of the game;

Q1 2015

Basic vehicles
Advanced loot distribution
New renderer
New Zombie AI
Basic stealth system (zombies and animals)
Diseases

Q2 2015

Advanced vehicles (repair and modifications)
Advanced animals (life cycle, group behavior)
Player statistics
New UI
Player stamina
Dynamic events

Q3 2015

Traps
Barricading
Character life span + soft skills
Animal predators + birds
Aerial transport
Console prototype

Q4 2015

Animal companions
Steam community integration
Construction (base building)

So, do you think a game that has been already been available as early access for so long deserves a price development like this? Love to hear your opinion :)

Originally I thought this was a bit off but it's very similar to the way ArmA3 was done as well. The only difference is that ArmA3 was much closer to its promised release schedule overall than DayZ Standalone ever was.

DayZ Standalone also was released over a year beyond its originally promised date and came out in a state that couldn't even compare to the experience available in the mod.

Even to this day the game has improved leaps and bounds but I still don't feel it's anywhere near the game that the mod was. I don't feel I'm alone in this regard either as the mod had half of our Community ingame at any one time whereas the Standalone hasn't captured and held nearly that much interest.

I also believe that BIS has sunk a lot of time and resources into this game much of it during the spinning wheel period where Rocket was in charge and their trying to recoup some of that lost revenue.

What will be interesting to see is if Gamers actually want yet another Zombie Apocolypse game in 2016 because the market has been over-saturated with these games over the past few years.
