I'm kind of in a holding pattern (pun intended) with DCS right now. I like flying the Viper and the Hornet, but the performance in VR is so bad...to get any sort of frame rate you have to drop the visual clarity severely. They've acknowledged the problem and part of their team is entirely focused on performance this year so here's to hoping.

What modules did ya get Davey?
I got the Flaming Cliffs 3 pack for now, I'd like to try and find a plane I like and just spend time in that one plane and get used to all the controls and joystick. First time I've ever used a joystick and throttle so it takes some getting used too.
Did some free flying in the Mig 29 and it kept fucking beeping at me in russian and I didn't know how to turn it off.
I think all the ones I have are low fidelity planes, would it be worth getting a high fidelity so I have use of the mouse in VR because all of the keyboard shortcuts kill me.

The F-18 is very popular. I don't own it but I guess i can recommend it anyway. I also like the F-14, F-16 and P-51. Note that in the F-14 you will need to use the Jester menu instead of pushing buttons yourself, but it flies like a P-51 on steroids, loads of fun. F-18 and F-16 are fly-by-wire, so the flight computer flies it and you tell the computer what you want it to do. But they are amazing planes for sure.
