i have actually been playing 5th edition online with a few people lately, i grew up on 2e adnd and tried 3.5e, but 5th is really simplified and easy to play. there is a bit of a learning curve, but if you go on steam. they have a tool to play that is friggin amazing. its called Fantasy Grounds. they have a website where u can find players from all over to play with you and what it is, is basically a virtual table top. so you dont have to worry about anyone cheating on dice rolls or anything. its actually my favorite way to play now lol, idk if i could ever go back to plain old pen and paper. the ultimate license is pretty price-y but if u have that, then anyone with a trial download can play for free. on their website they have all kinds of different table top games that are also compatible with fantasy grounds that are similar to dnd play. C&C, Savage Worlds, Pathfinder Society, dnd 2e, 3.5e, 4e, 5e, ETC. its a very good community of players who love dnd, and an amazing tool to use. Check it out, i promise you wont regret it.
