I've done the race on Saturday, at 19:00 GMT. The splits were a bit bigger this time because the car limit is 54 at Silverstone. Hence, I found myself in the second split.
I registered and entered the simulation when the session went up. Then I found out that something was bugged because it wouldn't let me qualify or even go into the garage saying "team does not have a complete setup" with some stranger's name as the setup loaded.
I quickly exited and entered. My PC does not like quickly so when I got back in I had a little under 6 minutes left of qualifying. Fortunately, enough for 2 laps, although not very quick ones. I ended up placing 36th out of 43.
The start was as expected from a GT3 series, pretty chaotic. I managed to avoid most of it, just hit a McLaren who was unlucky enough to get sandwiched between a BMW and me when the track narrowed. No damage though.
The McLaren was really slow compared to the RUF and BMW and the hot weather didn't help. I found a fellow McLaren running similar pace to me so I followed him for a while. We quickly lost the main pack and had some angry BMWs behind us who couldn't quite get past on the straight. I made a mistake which let the following BMW get past me. His annoyance with being stuck behind yet another slow McLaren now shortly became clear when he punted him out of the way.
I did keep driving consistent laps and avoiding incidents, so that led to quite a few positions. After every pit stop the track became more quiet and I was able to find a little more pace by getting used to the weather and using the rubber on the track. In my last stint I found my way into the top 20 and I was running only slightly slower than the 4th place RUF when he lapped me so that felt pretty good.
I ended up getting disqualified of course but the unofficial points gained were 138 in that race (I believe slightly more than winning 5th split).
