ETS2 Recommended mods

On Dukes request, here are some mods I'm currently using and recommend.

Please note that I can't promise error free logs, and that combinations of several mods on the same profile can have unpredictable results and can lead to loss of your profile in the worst case. Always make a back up, or at least a save game before adding new mods!
Also note that the non-steam workshop links can lead to download sites that are nasty to use (misleading ads, unsafe pop ups etc.), use on your own risk, pop-up blockers and anti virus protection recommended.

Scania V8 open pipe sound: an excellent not overdone V8 sound that pops nicely

Signs on your truck: put almost every imaginable sign or sticker on your truck, ranging from country stickers to hazzardous material signs

Doubles Anywhere: lets you take doubles anywhere instead of just in Scandinavia (or you can change to a double in the load select options). Keep in mind that not all ferries/garages/depots are suitable for doubles though, so you might not always be able to finish the trip.

Flash beacons: flashing lights for the front of your truck that make for a good replacement of regular beacons

Immersive symbols: this mod will take away any immersive breaking elements. Dead end indicators (floating X-es) will be invisible, watch your route finder!, floating symbols like refuel and company markers will be replaced by a sewer lid, and the white parking spot lines will be replaced by two sets of cones, where the rear cones will gently flash white, and the white will turn green when parked correctly

Thanks Shilka.

I'm definitely looking forward to the Scania V8 Sound Mod and have been on the fence about the pylon/sewer grate mod for a while now. From an immersion standpoint it's unbeatable though so I'll likely give it a try soon.

The one issue I'm struggling with is the invisible barrier mod. I love it and would not run the game any other way but sometimes the road offramps a few times in close proximity, I select the wrong one and hit an invisible wall. Is there a mod that extends the road end a little further making it obvious you cannot take that route?

On the GPS the roads you cannot drive are a small nub and barely legible which is the reason I sometimes mistake them and run into an invisible wall.

There used to be an invisible barrier mod that would not only make the barrier invisible, but it would take the collision model away as well, but it never got updated and disappeared. Instead of bumping into an invisible barrier you would risk falling off the world completely though. At the moment I only know of mods that only make it invisible. Putting it further back would involve modding every dead end by hand I'm afraid.

I also bump into an invisible barrier now and again, but I prefer that anytime over the floating X-es
